I don't even agree with that, given the roster problems combined with the injuries, but it is a lot more reasonable of a claim than that he would be currently at least 20-5.

Iowa was in the bonus with 7 minutes left in the game and Rutgers never took advantage of that. Massive failure on Pikiell's part, just an example of really poor coaching. Iowa had nothing in the interior to stop Dylan. Instead Rutgers settled for way too many contested jump shots and they fell in love with the 3-ball in the 2nd Half.

I mean you could probably make the argument (and one poster has approximately 100,000 times regarding one particular player) that we would have been better off just keeping the players we recruited than we are today.

But that requires the player to want to stay so..

All of these things are true. And I'm not making excuses for Dylan and Ace, but they just aren't themselves. I don't know if it's illness, the grind of a longer season, or the disappointment setting in. But before yesterday, everything was still on the table. For them to look and play like that was so disappointing. Congratulations to Iowa for really wanting it and never giving up. They were undermanned and 0-5 on the road. And despite that, they outscored us by 20 points over the last 15 minutes in the RAC. That's hard to believe.

The RAC hasn’t been the RAC since 2021 when we beat purdue

Even the announcers point out that fans sit on their hands half the time and only get up because the person in front of them stood up

The fans (and I am a season ticket holder too) contribute very little to the atmosphere anymore

I was at the game. This morning, I watched the end of the game and the way Fran and the Iowa team was reacting with such pure joy. In a weird way, it made me feel better. Respect to Sandfort and crew for being experienced, talented guys for which this is the biggest part of their journey and not a pit stop on the way to something bigger.

You're right but at the same time, you can't let an 0-5 road team outscore you by 20 points over the final 15 minutes. Their defense was bad. If that is less about effort and more about illness sapping them of their energy, then the loss is also on the coach for not recognizing that.
