I don’t get people on Pike- he will be gone if we finish below .500

There was a good article in the Athletic yesterday about Auburn's offensive coordinator with a telling quote

That quote is nice and all but if everyone could put together a top 10 defense they probably would.. I'm not sure if you've noticed but preventing the other team from scoring is pretty valuable.

Be Honest, When did you first notice something was off?

Ok. So then who needs to be pulled?
And who replaces them?
Unless Grant and mythical Dortch are playing 30mpg starting tomorrow, there isn't some magic bullet waiting on the bench.

The defense can't be fixed because we already playing our "best defenders".
Should we play Acuff and Hayes more? Is that the rebounding answer?

Current MPG:
Ace 33.3
Dylan 32.9
JWill 24.8
Derkack 23.3
Lathan 19.5
Davis 18.1
Martini 16.6
Ogbole 13.8
Acuff 13.5
Hayes 12.7
Grant 9.0
Sorry, I was referring to pulling them for a teachable moment rather than sitting them for good.

Kind of like what Pike appeared to do to Ogbole last game after screaming at him.

That’s called coaching. Or, used to be called coaching..

Dylan imo…. We win both games with him healthy

Yeah and he tried and guess what he was like the walking dead. No energy , no hops, no drive , used as a decoy. Not the triple double or 36 and 37 point scorer or top 5 scorer in the nation Dylan. We missed him terribly but not because he went to a woman’s game and watched.
Like me, you are nothing but another excellent fan and voice in a diverse fanbase who all have their own opinions and thoughts.
Some people agree with you, some don’t.

OT: 29 Years Ago Today (Monday) - the Blizzard of 1996

January 1987 was pretty nasty too. I was working at the RAC and even though employers staggered closing times, traffic was at a virtual standstill for hours. I almost ran out of gas.
Another favorite, lol. Took me an hour to travel from the eng'g building on Busch to our house on Orris Ave off Metlars, not more than a mile away, in the early afternoon when the storm was raging, as cars were barely moving and some were getting stuck and my roommate and I got out a few times to help people. So many horror stories as it seemed like everyone was let out at once - this was a few months before I met my wife and she said it took her 5 hours to go from TKR in Warren to Highland Park. I also remember going to the Melody that night with my roommates and being astounded at all the abandoned cars on Metlars and 18 - was also a fun night at the bar, as was usually the case on snow nights.

Pike: “Grant had his two best practices”

I don’t even think a team should have any captains unless it is deserved. From the looks of this team, there should not be a single captain right now.

OT but the NFL "captain" situation is ridiculous.
Teams have like 10 captains.

And now 1st year rookie QBs are named captain before the season even starts.

Unless they go to teams with established QBs, both Sanders and Ward and near guaranteed to be voted team captains come September.

OT: 29 Years Ago Today (Monday) - the Blizzard of 1996

As great as the Blizzard of 96 was February 83 is still my favorite of all times
While Jan-96 was the most fun snowfall wise, Feb-83 was the most fun I ever had in a snowstorm. As I posted a few years ago, I didn't follow that one closely as I was a junior neck deep in thermo, PDEs and 2 women at that time, but that is still my favorite storm of all time as friends of mine were in the band that still played that night at the Busch pub which was still open as another friend was manager there and the staff were all on campus. There were snowball fights in the pub, people trying to sled outside on the small hill with 18+" on the ground and it still pouring down and lots of general debauchery as the pub didn't close until 3 am that night as the cops had more important things to do, lol. Wild wild night.

OT (Updated): The Saturday 1/11 Event Now Looking Like <1" with a Whiff Possible on the Low Side and 1-2" Possible on the High Side

Maybe you all beat him into submission to lowering his estimates. Maybe he has a plan?
This is all in good fun, and @RU848789 is a good sport for all the crap he takes. I enjoy the interplay of you two, but some of the others, I don't even see.

Being right about the weather is one of weirdest flexes on this board (out of many).

Observation on Warmups

And as someone who has a similar coaching resume (but all recreational over 11 years boys and girls) I disagree with what you say. You play like you practice (in general). In this particular case I believe this is not just about warm-ups but about it being an indicator of overall focus and play and discipline. For a team that plays such Ad Hoc offense perhaps some structure would help with the mindset of passing and cutting.
In a perfect world having more structure in warmups is preferred but certainly no an indicator of how a team will perform in games. I coached my 3 kids for 10 years in youth basketball as well. We always ran structured drills during warmups but, at the end of the day what mattered more was talent. If the team we were playing had loose informal unstructured warmups but better, more skilled players we lost. Talent, skills, athleticism, bball IQ, etc. matter a lot more than how structured or unstructured the pregame warmups are.

Pike: “Grant had his two best practices”

I do not think the players voted for these captains, but if they did , it was a pure deferral to the older seniors or grad transfers. These captains seem like they were Pike selected. Huge fail again.
