Setting the bar low

Yeah, if the contract weren’t an issue I think his seat would be pretty hot next year if it wasn’t going well (and to be clear, “well” means NCAA tourney not >0.500 overall). As it is the contract is probably prohibitive so he’ll get a few more years as long as there aren’t any scandals or Eddie Jordan level dumpster fires.
Sounds right although realistically “well” probably only goes as far as being seriously in the thick of the bubble conversation next February. I think you’d have a lot of people complaining if we fell short, but it would be somewhat mixed. That would be an upgrade and a sign that Pike can succeed going back to his roots. What he can’t afford is an Eddie Jordan type season.

Reactions: fluoxetine

Steve Pikiell reveals why Rutgers star Ace Bailey sat most of 2nd half in loss to Maryland

(1) Why would he lie about him having mono
(2) How does this tie in with the fact that JWill and Bailey now seem to have gotten the flu so not sure about the "low contagion" part.
People here wondered how team docs would approve a kid with a virulent flu ‘strand’ (Pike’s term LOL) taking flights. The flu is very contagious. Tip: they wouldn’t. The two week duration was also questioned.

Why you ask ? Did you ever hear a coach say a player was out because of an STD, which of course no one else will catch on a flight to or from Indiana ? Two week flu Shelby’s arse.

Pike made it up on the fly to protect the player. Strand ha ha ha. No doctor told him ‘strand’ and he didn’t even bother to google it.

So unlucky for RUs two best players to get the flu.

Not sure what Ace’s deal was yesterday but Pike would have noticed flu symptoms in advance were there any. Did he sneeze or cough even just one time ?

Out of the blue in the middle of the game Ace tells Pike he can’t play anymore because he has the flu ?

The whole flu business doesn’t add up. Williams, ok. Saw it firsthand. The other two, not buying it.

Something ailing them, sure. But not the flu.

OT: Minor Snow/Sleet Weds evening, 2/12: ~1" near and N of 80; <1" S of 80 to 78; up to 0.1" freezing rain for NWNJ/Poconos/LV; just rain S of 78

Map shows a pull back since earlier maps posted this morning. Now 1 to 2in in Philadelphia.
All these systems training through the region have very little precipitation. At a time the region is desperate to get out of it's drought.
Just wait for Saturday night into Sunday - looking like a real soaker with 1-2" of rain (could be some initial snow/sleet NW of 95, but this is likely to be >90% rain even well inland.

OT: Minor Snow/Sleet Weds evening, 2/12: ~1" near and N of 80; <1" S of 80 to 78; up to 0.1" freezing rain for NWNJ/Poconos/LV; just rain S of 78

Rather than trying to keep all the weather/snow info in the other thread, bac suggested (and I bet @e5fdny would approve, lol) that a separate thread would make more sense, especially given the hoops game Weds night. So here we go. Below is the NWS map of the expected snowfall from wave 2 from 7 am Weds to 7 am Thurs, with the snow likely to start between 7 pm and 10pm Wednesday night, so hopefully minimal impact on the game, but some impact can't be ruled out. The snow will start to changeover to sleet and then rain (minimal freezing rain expected) from south to north through the evening/nighttime, after putting down 1-2" a little SE of 95 from Philly to Perth Amboy (and everywhere south of Philly), with 2-3" likely along and NW of that line from Philly to Perth Amboy all the way to NWNJ and the Poconos/Lehigh Valley/NW Phillly burbs. Could be about 1/4" of plain rain after the changeover for most (with more sleet/less rain in the colder locations well NW of 95).

And here's the NWS map for the Weds evening into Thursday morning event, which has been downgraded a bit by the NWS (based on less precip) - looking at 1-2" for the northern half of CNJ now...could be a bit of snow falling after the RU game, so keep an eye out - unlikely to be anything significant though.

I think we can make the Playoffs

10-2?
Seems unlikely if this guy is accurate about the level of transfers we get.

What does this post have to do with our prospects for 2025? While we’re probably not getting superstars from the bargain bin, as long as these kids give us competitive reps, we’ll be in good shape.
