NCAA Transformation Committee Recommends Expanding March Madness Fields​

NCAA postseason championships, including the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments, would be expanded under recommendations made by the NCAA transformation committee.

After nearly a year’s worth of meetings, the transformation committee, charged with reshaping archaic NCAA policies, produced a 40-page final report that was released Tuesday to selected media members. The report will go to the Division I board of directors for consideration at the 2023 NCAA convention in San Antonio next week.

Among the many recommendations is incorporating more teams in NCAA postseason championships. The NCAA should consider expanding championship brackets to accommodate access for 25% of participating teams in the sport, the committee’s report The NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournament encompasses 68 teams, or about 19% of the sport’s 350-some active members. The tournaments would have to expand by about 20 teams—incorporating around 90 total teams—to reach the 25% mark.

The donor is not directly affiliated with Rutgers but was close with Bob and is hoping his gift will encourage others to get involved to honor Bob's work at Rutgers.

For anyone who will be attending the game at Northwestern next Wednesday, the Rutgers Club of Chicago will be hosting a pre-game event at Ten Mile House, one block from Welsh-Ryan Arena. It will be from 6:00-7:30 (tipoff is at 8:00) with complimentary light appetizers and the first round of drinks is on the club. Hope to see you there!

Ken Block, known primarily to "car guys", was killed in a snowmobile accident in Utah.

Block was known for his "Gymkhana" videos which are truly worth a watch if you're unfamiliar with them. He was 55.

Sure they could lose to Purdue in the Big Ten Championship. I doubt that. However, they beat Ohio State 2 years in a row and today at OSU. He made Stanford a winner. Then SF 49ers then Michigan. The clowns that said he sucks as a head coach are lacking in football knowledge. All those bashing Harbaugh threads are still out there. Instead of digging them up get out in front and admit you were wrong.

Surprising move by Artur after DeVito was denied another year of eligibility. These things don't just happen to RU players.

Good for Artur, and a good move by him. Interesting comments by him on the Illinois program:

Sitkowski could have pushed for a chance to become a starter or at least serve another season as the top backup, but that meant he would have had to wait on his dream.
