OT: CheezeIt Bowl

Got the early flight out of AC this morning, amazingly no delays

Spirit nickle-dimes you for everything but they’re cheap and generally reliable

AC solid, everytime I fly out of there I wonder why I don’t do it more often

Orlando cold. Weather supposed to warm up is what I hear

Airport and hotel good luck of Noles & Sooners. OU known to have a friendly fan base so looking forward to chatting w them

OU has our damn number. 2000 orange bowl champ game loss still haunts me. Worst game ever

2010 in Norman they boat raced us, 2011 in Doak loudest I’ve ever heard it there

We have all our guys playing, they have a bunch opting out

Get in ticket was near $100 yesterday

Downtown nice setup w Bball arena, soccer & fb stadiums all right there

Buddy wanted to hit hockey game tonight (solarbears) but Jake Owen and a couple others are performing outside the one bar we’re going to, so prob not making hockey game

Overall glad to be back down here, and happy to see live football

New Years Eve Bowls

Of importance…playoffs!
I’m sure this has been discussed at length but I just don’t understand it. I’ve got preparations, I’ve got company, I’ve got places to go, I’ve got kids to drive and pick up, I’ve got errands….what I don’t have is a pair of sweat pants and a hat on with no plans, laying horizontal on my couch and nothing to do…like New Year’s Day or Monday.
Yup….the NFL, Can’t do both.
Monday would have been the day.

Portal QB Landscape

Gonna put this here in case anyone is interested rather than save on my phone in notes.

Likely Portal
Good players/upside
Jeff Sims - Ga Tech
Jacoby Criswell - UNC
**Donovan Smith - Texas Tech

No upside/depth
Miller Moss - USC
Mikey Keene - UCF
Hudson Card - Texas

Could Portal
Good players/upside
Malik Hornsby - Arkansas (dual threat system)
*Brennan Armstrong - UVA
*Tanner Mordecai - SMU

No upside/depth
Ty Thompson - Oregon
DJ Uaigalele - Clemson
Evan Prater - Cinci

NJ QBs
TBD - anyone else wanna do this part?

Rutgers in play? Some big stretches here but if you’re into this kind of thing..

**Donovan Smith - think Donovan Smith is a sneaky outside shot for RU if they want to go that route. His dad is on the Giants staff and presumably lives in NJ. Probably the highest quality guy we could conceivably get. Dad was on staff at TT when recruited so he doesn’t have many relationships with other programs bc he didn’t have a recruitment always going to tech.

*Brennan Armstrong - Depending on what Shrader does Cuse would make the most sense given their OC now is who he flourished under. No immediate RU connection, but, Armstrong was once committed to Minnesota not sure if any of our staff now was there and/or if some ex ru guys on Minny staff now could be in play for offensive staff positions next year which could possibly lead to a connection.

*Tanner Mordecai - literally no connection but in the dream that’s impossible with Phil Longo as OC ( i should just stop writing on this one) Longo recruited him out of high school.

Remembering 9/11

It's been 20 years since the towers fell and dealt a devastating blow to America's sense of invulnerability. Much has changed since then, but like Pearl Harbor, a whole generation will never forget it. We mourn still those lost to that attack and mark that day every year when it comes around on the calendar. Please join with the staff of Rivals in commemorating that horrific loss and sharing your memories of that terrible day.

I think I'm in the wrong business!

Yes, I should have become a coach, a football coach, preferably to a school like Rutgers. Why you may ask? Where else can you make $4M a year and be thinking about getting an extension and possibly a pay raise? Where else can you be less than mediocre in coaching, recruiting and most of all winning or dare I say, losing at RU, and you can get an extension because you can make excuses like, my peers have better facilities or I don't have the NIL money like my peers or it takes time to build something, give me time and an extension and I will get it done, don't look at my results so far, it's a work in progress!

I have been fortunate enough to be very early on some technology companies that I helped build into powerhouses, I am in sales and in my profession if you don't sell, not only you don't make money but you usually get fired. You have 6 months to build a Pipeline and the next 3 months to close a deal, so basically 9 months to start showing revenue. Here at RU, people are thinking of giving Coach Schiano an extension, an extension for what? Can we not get blown out by MD or win maybe more than 1 BIG game? Can we at a minimum win 6 games and can we get a decent OC to come here?

I can understand being smug and holier than thou attitude that Coach Schiano seems to portray, but for what, what has he done to merit that kind of attitude? I have been a season ticket holder since Dick Anderson was the coach and this is the first time the frustration is setting in. We are in the BIG, biggest media market in the country and to have a recruiting class that's bottom of the BIG is unacceptable. To have an offense that's truly offensive, is unacceptable. In my opinion, btw, doesn't mean much, he needs show a pulse on offense next year, win a minimum of 6 games, hire an OC that's respectable, get some transfers here at WR at a minimum, I don't think I can sit thru having fans of other teams take over our stadium and singing their fight songs, I just can't. So, Coach Schiano, you have a year from me, to show improvement, otherwise your going to lose a few long time season ticket holders, comes a time when enough is enough.
