Rutgers president not expected to seek contract extension, could leave next year

The author is a pretty miserable human being, but is typically knowledgeable.

He, or someone behind him, could certainly be wish casting here.

I wouldn't blame anybody for not wanting to be a university president anywhere. Plus we have the special sauce that is NJ and RU.

UCLA looks very beatable

I watched a good part of their game against Indiana. First off, as I suspected, these west coast teams cannot stand up to the bruising level of line play that we have in the Big 10. This was their first conference game, and they already looked overmatched at times. What will happen after they've played a few games like this in a row? I remember our first few seasons it was the same with us, well, more than our first few as Ash took our recruiting backwards. We'd play okay in the beginning of the season, but by the time we got past the midway point our lack of quality depth in the lines meant we stumbled to the end of the season. I project the same thing for UCLA and, at least, Washington. Second, Indiana doesn't have a RB at Monangai's level: they're serviceable, but don't have the patience, eye and explosiveness he possesses. Hell, they only racked up 127 yards on the ground. Their top rusher had 47 yards on 10 carries. KM, SB and AR should be able to pound UCLA. Third, their OL looks pedestrian at best. I think B10 teams are gonna feast on them.

Rutgers Greed: Not letting water bottles in

I am not a big water person, but watching all of the people(many) not being able to bring in their water bottle when they go into the stadium, just reinforces how greedy and stupid Rutgers is. I know I am rehashing what has been written since they instituted the rule, but whoever at RU put that in, should be ashamed of themselves. Making people buy the bottles of water is just greed.

I sold paper products for a living and we also sold truckloads of water. I was able to sell a 36 pack of 16.9 oz. water to my customers for $1.69 total(36 bottles!!!!)

Claiming it is a security issue and a homeland issue is a bullshit excuse.

Sorry for the rant. People can bring food into Yankee Stadium, but nothing can be brought into SHI(T) Stadium.

Best of Luck,
Groz

Va Tech Blogger Seems Worried about RU

Aside from Va Tech being a mess on both sides of the ball. . . .

"Rutgers has a big-play tailback averaging over eight yards per attempt. They have multiple receivers capable of challenging Tech’s corners on the outside and a quarterback who can get things done as a passer or runner."

"The Scarlet Knights aren’t Marshall, Vandy, or ODU. If the Hokies start slow or have an abysmal quarter like Saturday’s second quarter, they stand no chance of winning this game. Rutgers will make them pay for their mistakes. They are big and physical up front, which is a concern for Tech in the trenches."

And injury updates:

"Let's start with standout WR Ali Jennings who went down late in the first half and did not return to the game. Pry provided the following remarks on Jennings' status after.
"He’s got a tweak. I think he’s going to be OK, but we weren’t comfortable putting him back out there. He was disappointed. It was good to see him make a few plays early," Pry said."
