2021 - 2022 HS Season Thread

Where are the brackets for the Beast? I looked on flo and track and can’t find them. Thanks.

The Beast of the East is missing a lot of good wrestlers this year. Should be a battle between Delbarton, Malvern, and Blair. Has hoping we would see Mullen v, Feldman.

Chletsos loses to Vazquez 2-1. Neither wrestler got a takedown, but he lost on a stalling penalty point.

He was banged twice for stalling on his feet, once in 1st period and again in 2nd period, so he was down 0-2 in 3rd. Anyone see it; was he backing up and not shooting while Vazquez was attacking? Seems you'd have to be backing up and not shooting a lot to give a stall point with 23 seconds left in 2nd period.

😬 Chletsos lost his next match 9-4 to Ibrahim Ahmed from Blair. Seems he was taken down at will, 4 takedowns to 0. His only points were escapes. Anyone watch? He'll wrestle for 5th.

He will never contribute here. Bad signing. Don’t understand why he didn’t go hard after Santaniello

Which Santaniello are you referring to? You’re wrong either way, Rutgers had/has recruited both pretty hard
My apologies. I confused the Santaniello’s. Forgot Anthony was only a Junior thought he was a Senior.

Regardless, Another very mediocre tournament for Chletsos either way. Certainly not B10 caliber.

Anthony Knox didn’t wrestle? Wonder why. He’s supposed to be a potential 4x state champion.

A bit harsh, I think we were all excited for the pa pipeline but yeah… prolly just going to end up being a practice partner. :(

Blair and Delbarton dominate the Beast with 6 champs and 4 seconds. Hope we can get some of these kids. What happened to the big kid we got from Delbarton? Is it true he was asked to leave school.

Going to be some fun matchups to watch at Powerade. Mullens/Fieldman will be epic though dint see anyone beating Feldman.
On side note, as far as I know, Nick Fea has still not committed, Sem transfer to BC, (I could be wrong). I really hope we’re pressing hard on recruiting path for him, Lorenzo Norman too, but that’s a year later.

Fea would be a great pickup for sure.

Soldano (190) and Fongaro (144) are both wrestling in the Sam Cali tournament today and tomorrow . Both guys are currently in the semifinals add have won all of their matches by TF or Fall as expected.

Neither should really be tested this tournament especially Soldano but would be nice to see Fongaro continue to dominate.

At 113 there is a potential top 10 national matchup looming between #1 Anthony Knox and #6 Adrian DeJesus. Should be a good one.

DeJesus is on a tear lately. Great kid and works hard. Should be an interesting match. I wonder if DeJesus ages out in NJ like Unger since he’s either a double-holdback or really old for his grade. Not too many freshman that drive themselves to practice.

Yeah, not sure of his situation but hes definitely someone to keep an eye on.

Soldano gets the fall in under a minute to win his bracket as well.

Isn't the other kid ranked 4th in the country?
Yeah, DeJesus is ranked high because he’s beaten guys like Desmond and Mendoza recently, but I believe that was when he cut a sh!t ton of weight to get to 106. I’m not really sure where he lands nationally at 113. Regardless, DeJesus is a stud but Knox was toying with him when it was 8-1. Then Knox took his foot off the gas and put the rest of the match on cruise control, which for me was disappointing.

Chletsos lost in the 2nd round to an unseeded opponent at Powerade. He is having a terrible start to his season.
