When Hyatt shoots the right 3 point shots he can be deadly. Yes, streaky but he can hit big threes.

Probably correct...he has the most versatility. But lacks consistency..

Hyatt is shooting 35% on threes. Streaky, but capable of hitting big ones at any time. With him and Mag starting he can also drive and score when the matchup and opportunity presents itself.

Palmquist has no game outside of having a decent three point shot. He may be the worst rebounder per inch than any college player ever. He gives up way more points and turnovers than he scores. Offenses consistently go right to whoever he is covering

Bottom line is we missed the tournament last year with both of those guys and we lost to Hofstra with both. Cam was not great in a lot of games for us last year. Yes he is a very good shooter and he made a lot of clutch baskets, but based on Rivals scouting of Gavin, I thought he could adequately replace Cam. So far, that is not correct. We do not miss Paul this year.

Because it’s obvious to me that every player on the court has the ability to play at this level. Oskar doesn’t have that capability and there is a reason he didn’t play in the second half

I don't want to oversimplify basketball but essentially, the more ways a team can win a game, the better the team is.

A) Can RU win while shooting poorly from 3.....?? I think the answer is yes, because it can get deflections, steals and layups.

B) Can RU win if they shoot poorly from the FT line?? Yes....they'll improve from the line. Simpson and Fernandes are very solid. I think the others pick up the pace.

C) what happens if RU plays good defense AND makes 3s......and then improve on the FT shooting?

If you shoot 4-20 from 3 and 13-26 from the line and win by 20+, there's a lot to be encouraged about.

Here's my thought. Hyatt has upped his game this year. Not as out of control as he has been. Been a willing passer and rebounding numbers are coming along. Is streaky from 3 but is at 35 percent right now. Could definitely be closer to 40 by the end of the year.

Team's defense was outstanding, especially early on. But, as everyone saw, our shooting was pretty poor. LIU stayed in the game pretty much due to us being unable to take advantage of their turnovers rather than their offensive ability. Second half, they started hitting some 3's and hanging onto the ball a bit better.
Final score was very misleading for a game that should have been pretty much out of reach for them a lot earlier.
Foul shooting is just abysmal.

Oskar is a net negative. He does nothing on the court other than shoot an occasional three. His rebounding and defense are so bad especially for a guy who is 6’8 and been here 4 years. If you watch the games, you will notice the opposing teams immediately attack him and he rarely makes a play defensively. We will see if I eat cowboy not but would love to see how many points the player he defends has scored this year.

As far as Gavin is concerned, where am I wrong? I am a fan of his and think he has a bright future. Is it ok to shoot as poorly from the line as him? Does he take too many bad shots?

It's a 30 point win without Cliff blowing 2 dunks and us missing 50 percent of our free throws. It's unreal how bad we are at free throw shooting some games.

I don't have BTN+ so I didn't see today's game. That said, it is fair to say Oskar is 9th or 10th in the rotation, but to say he should NEVER play again other than in garbage time is an overreaction. He has looked like a decent depth player in several games this season. We have no way of knowing if something else affected his play today.
