Baltimore Sun Has RU Lax in Top 5 for 2018

He had Maryland, Hopkins, and OSU outside the top ten. I guess those teams are losing a lot

Maryland loses a ton. Their recruiting has been stellar but you don't replace the Tewarraton winner and his 3rd team AA 4 year running mate easily.

The also lose a bunch at midfield and their defense. They will reload, but it's a whole new team for them. Don't feel sorry, they will be ok.

Hopkins is a mess. Great recruiting allegedly, but their style of play is from so Y2K. Not sure their coaches can get out of the way and let the players go. We get them at home next year.

OSU losses their fogo and goalie, which is a huge component to them winning. They also lose other very productive midfielders as well as at least one starting D man if not two. They return LeClaire who is an absolute stud, and a few other pieces, but they are rebuilding.

On paper, we return so much it's hard to argue with a high preseason ranking. Hopefully the injured guys can come back and play at a similar level they left off. That is a huge wildcard for us.

Yeah, it's a good thing this class didn't stumble on Memorial Day this year like they kept doing in their prior seasons, because this was their last chance. It was an incredibly talented class. Most schools would give anything for the last four seasons this class had. Even so, it's definitely true that they under-achieved until this season. They'll definitely take a step back with these guys graduating.

All good for Rutgers. With the two dudes coming back from injury alone, I see a lot of hardware in that team's near future...

Next year is huge for us, no question. Let's hope we avoid the injury bug that crushed us last season.

We have our best team that Coach Brecht will have had, and it is a good year for our B1G schedule as we have 3 home games, which in this conference, means everything.

Doesn't RU get back a great player who missed this past season?

Two great players. Adam Charlembides and Christian Trasolini our best middie.

I would also add Bullett, who was our starting LSM. Hopefully they can all come back to close to or equal to where they were.
