Negligent towards athletics for so many years. He's as much to blame for this as Flood and Julie.
Hate to say it, but he's gotta go..too.

Tell that to the NCAA.The allegation with drug testing date back to Pernetti. I know the ADs are in charge but it looks like whoever was in charge of the drug testing is the culprit here
Im not a fan of Barchi but the majority of this stuff isnt new news and we have moved on with a new AD and coaching staff
Wow. University presidents don't get fired over stuff like this. It still amazes me when I see such an imbalanced response to something going wrong--there's blood in the water, hang everyone whose name comes up!!Negligent towards athletics for so many years. Not sure what Barchi had to do this.
This was under Pernetti, JH, and Flood all of whom were justifiably canned.
A President of a B1G school doesn't go around asking players to pee in a cup. Come on.
He was President during this. It starts with him.
Barchi's not going anywhere, University presidents don't get fired over some athlete's failing a drug test. This isn't Baylor or Penn State

You should hate to say it...because it sounds really stupid.
I know you love the media and all, but everything is not a big dramatic event. This is small time stuff, that has been known for a long time. The school knew this was coming since before Flood was even fired.
Not dramatic, correct..but extremely embarrassing to our program.
And in some kind of twisted, face-saving maneuver you want the University President to step down or be fired? Ever wonder why you never made upper management? Not dramatic, correct..but extremely embarrassing to our program.
Why is it extremely embarrassing? It happens all the time.
No it doesn't. Which schools have gotten hit with a NOA recently? Not many. Not sure where this statement comes from.
Nothing on the NOA is serious -- or even new for that matter.
Nothing is new. Not my point. Most happened during the Flood/Hermann era..with, Barchi overlooking. Nothing serious? Lots of "Level II" stuff, which is MAJOR, according to NCAA. Hopefully not too major, but we'll see.
I was way, way more embarrassed coming to work after some of the beatings we took this year. I don't care one lick about this, because I know the school dealt with it in the right way.
Fair enough. But anytime Rutgers is laughingstock, on or off the field..its very embarrassing to me.
So he made a bad hire in Julie, rectified it by making a great hire in Hobbs, and he should be fired? One strike and you are out?The Athletic Department was an absolute mess for years under Barchi. Hobbs, Ash and Pikiell seem like they're cleaning it up.
He knows he screwed up big time, imo..which is why he immediately reached out to Hobbs. He's as much to blame than anyone else.

Gay bashing? Really? Are identity politics that deeply ingrained in you people that now to say a woman or homosexual is incompetent is a hate crime?Pretty funny how everyone is blaming Julie here when Tim p hired flood, typical Caliknight and his gay bashing ! Sad !

That's fine. Just my opinion...and I'm not the only one with this opinion.
Those of us saying this isn't a big deal..fine. just don't want to hear u complain about what the ncaa does to us.
Well you have to admit this was a purely agenda driven hire. WE DID IT! Is that Kate I saw sitting in the corner at the latest Board of Trustees meeting.Pretty funny how everyone is blaming Julie here when Tim p hired flood, typical Caliknight and his gay bashing ! Sad !

Even if there are NCAA penalties, that does not mean that Barchi should take a big hit.
This is such a reach. Barchi has been very good for RU overall.Negligent towards athletics for so many years. He's as much to blame for this as Flood and Julie.
Hate to say it, but he's gotta go..too.
No, Julie is at fault here as well. She either over looked what was going on or she had no idea what was going on. Both choices are bad.Pretty funny how everyone is blaming Julie here when Tim p hired flood, typical Caliknight and his gay bashing ! Sad !
I fully agree with giving flack to Barchi for mishandling athletics in his initial years...
...But we should remember that the other half of his job is academics and he has done a STELLAR job with that. RU's academic reputation is charting higher and higher with each passing year, our Honors program has undergone major changes to keep the top academic talent in state, the campus itself has changed dramatically in the last 3 years and nearly every single top corporation recruits on our campus now.
were you not the big Herman backer here?? She ran the athletic department like Jurich does in Louisville..dirty..shes at fault as much as Flood. The allegation with drug testing date back to Pernetti. I know the ADs are in charge but it looks like whoever was in charge of the drug testing is the culprit here

I agree with your point on academics but I think it is far greater than "the other half".I fully agree with giving flack to Barchi for mishandling athletics in his initial years...
