Good short article

In areas to mope he references broken machines, and get this...beds that were too short for our tall players. yikes.

Anyway, happy reading

"3. Culture change takes time. There were so many things going against the Scarlet Knights when Pikiell took over. For example, all four shooting machines were broken. And the players’ beds were too short, hindering the bigger guys’ ability to sleep. Those issues have been addressed, but there are 20 more like them. An institutional upgrade is underway, and like the practice facility, it’ll be a while before the result is tangible."

Yikes.

What are shooting machines?

I was one back on the day, now I am just old but not broken.
I assume it's basically an automatic ball returner.

WTF? Doesn't the school have tall people that DON'T play bball too? How do they sleep?

How in the world could we not provide appropriately sized beds for tall players? Forget not coaching rebounding or defense, that's a human issue. What a joke.

Standard dorm beds are 80", which would technically accommodate everyone up to 6' 8" (which would account for 99.99% of Americans... even giving an inch in both directions, if you're 6'6" you're taller than 99.85% of Americans)

Honestly, though, if you're 7' and 300lbs coming off of an injury... I can't imagine what it'd be like to sleep in one of the standard dorm beds. I always just assumed that longer beds were available on request.
