These obvious bogus charges were a sham, as it was announced today. The fact he wasn't even allowed to practice is a travesty.

Way to go Rutgers.

No it wasn't. He was charged with a serious crime and Flood was correct to shut him down. It sucks but we need to take these allegations seriously. I'm assuming RU didn't see the video before the court and as a result they handled this well.

We can't have kids charged with crimes practice as if nothing happened. Rutgers doesn't get to pick and choose which crimes it will sweep under the rug for star players. Especially the serious charges he was arrested for, they did the right thing to suspend, now they need to let him back immediately

Huh? It was a ridiculous catfight with some immature people. LC was only trying to get his girl friend out of the fray.

He was charged with a disorderly persons offense that has a maximum fine of $1000 AND NO JAIL TIME. Even if he was guilty, it would only warrant 2 or 3 game suspension. Considering the charges were dropped, the 2 game suspension he has already served is more than sufficient.

RU took the allegations serious, but now is the time to do the right thing and lift the suspension today.

I agree. Hopefully he can be added back to the roster and become a contributing member to society.

The DV aspect torpedoes this. Many, many lawyers commented here that had the restraining order been granted, LC's life would have been severely impacted for a LONG time. No way they could have let him practice through that.

It would have been very bad PR to have him practicing. Also, since he wasn't playing, the rest of the receivers needed as many reps as they can get.

Agree he should not have been on the practice field, until investigation was dne he had to sit out. Auburn kicked it best WR off the team- Duke Williams- for what I understand was a similar charge.

Rutgers did the right thing here...stop attacking the school like you always do

Not attacking the school anymore than you are attacking the program by saying Flood sucks.

It's the leadership that needs to be changed. The caved to the mob, as usual. They should be ashamed, just like some on this board.

Players suspended indefinitely should not practice.
I think your point should be he should have never been suspended indefinitely at all Cali.
A suspension with a time frame is a different story, but I don't see how Flood could have done that given the situation.

A google of "USC Football Arrests" returns pages of results. One of the first ones is

http://articles.latimes.com/2013/fe...c-junior-pomee-arrest-felony-charges-20130206

Please read the quote from Lane Kiffin.

USC is your wet dream program. They suspend their players pending the outcome of legal investigations too.

Nobody can be as tone deaf to the circumstances in which we operate as you come off. At this point, I'll just consider it schtick.

Alabam, Auburn, USCe, Georgia, USC, UCLA, OSU, Texas have all suspended players in the wake of arrests. ANd before you point to Jameis, I'll ask if you really want to turn into Florida State.

First off, USC was under probation. Certainly, they were taking precautions that they normally probably wouldn't have taken.

Seems to be some serious reading comprehension issues going on here. I never said he shouldn't be suspended. I said he should have been allowed to practice. Seems to be a fair medium when bogus charges are alleged and then disqualified.

Rutgers absolutely should have suspended Carroo until the investigation was complete. Now that the charges have been dropped, he should be reinstated today and playing on Saturday. Two game suspension is plenty enough.

Point us in the direction of any FBS player who was game suspended, but allowed to practice, while sorting out legal difficulties.

It's a stupid "medium."

Can someone please accuse the Michigan State D line of attacking them
so they will be suspended for this Saturdays game?
I know the charges will be bogus,
but that doesn't seem to matter.
Seems to me the RU police did a crappy job.
How were there no witnesses at the scene to clarify whether LC
"slammed her to the concrete"
It appears all he did was pull the other girl away from the fight.
But, of course, there are those here who think a payoff was arranged
and that is why the charges were dropped = the most negative
possibility that people can come up with.
There are some great "fans" here

Cali-
So as a coach it would be your policy to allow players suspended indefinitely to practice?
There's no reading comprehension problems, that's what you're saying, you believe that?

Purely from a football standpoint it makes little sense. Why give practice reps to a guy who isn't gonna play when most of his back-ups have seen little game action?

There were witnesses. It was the assailants or the group that attacked Caroo's girl friend. They pushed their message aggressively. The Police basicly took sides. They were manipulated and they did not even realize it. Caroo's group needed to hang around and push their claims after the incident too.

If you're arrested - regardless the outcome of the charges filed against you - you're suspended and you don't practice while being suspended. I don't care what sport, I don't care if you're a 3-time AA or a R-Frosh walk-on, or what sport you play for, this is the way a systems works and, at Rutgers, has for a long time now.

That being said, IMHO, Leonte should be on the practice field today.

I am always amazed at all the back biting and petty arguments. The school did what it thought was right. Everything went through the legal system and now Caroo is free.

Who cares about "what ifs" and "who should haves"

Why not deal with "what is"................

What is taking so long for Flood to make an announcement that he is reinstated?

Yeah read the transcript, it was a total sham. The whole thing was a big show trial, the product of NJ.Com and the professors, launching an evil plot against our successful, integrity laden staff

Barchi is to blame, if he hadn't slammed Condi Rice into concrete and if he hired a straight AD, Flood would be coach of the year.
