Nope, because the committee has already stated that they are not going to give much weight to championship game losses. Why should Team A be penalized for getting to a game which Team B wasn't good enough to get to, and therefore didn't have to play?If SMU loses they have two losses. BYU has two losses and owns a win over SMU. No chance for BYU in that scenario?

If McMurphy is right, Nebraska currently slotted for Duke's Mayo Bowl against Louisville.Checked Huskers board and they would love to go to Phoenix. Why not both schools have a discussion with bowl committees? One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Looks like a lot of huskers have retirement homes in AZ. If they end up with PHX, I would love to play Brian Kelly in Nashville. If McMurphy is right, Nebraska currently slotted for Duke's Mayo Bowl against Louisville.
Seeing Rutgers beat Louisville with Jeff Brohm screaming at his little brother Brian the entire game would be worth the trip.
That would be fun too.Looks like a lot of huskers have retirement homes in AZ. If they end up with PHX, I would love to play Brian Kelly in Nashville.
If Nebraska went to Rate, where would that put RU? I wouldn’t mind a Louisville - RU rematch in Charlotte…but I really doubt that would happen. If McMurphy is right, Nebraska currently slotted for Duke's Mayo Bowl against Louisville.

I agree, it would be faster if no issues with the major cities, but I will say the "inside route" is a more scenic drive and much less stressfulFrom western NJ, sure, but if you're near the TPK, 95 to 85 to Charlotte is ~20 miles shorter and faster, as long as you get through DC by about 6:30 am on a weekday or do a night drive. I would only do the 78/81 route outside of those times or if I knew of some bad traffic/construction situation on the 95 route before leaving.
Detroit would be back in play for RU if that happens…but I’m sure Indy is in.Last I checked their sos was better than ND, SMU and Miami I believe. Their loss was a better loss than the other teams also
I hope not .
With next years , schedule the goal will be to make the Pinstripe

Good god no. Have you ever been to a Pinstripe Bowl? Paying to see a bowl game at Yankee Stadium in December is not fun. Lousy field conditions, bad weather, shitty parking and lousy seating. I'd rather play at MetLife and that sucks.Yeah I completely agree. Pin Stripe is perfect for us in years with a tough schedule when we can just eek out 6 wins. I have no interest ever in Detroit and just think we won’t travel well on the 26th across the country to Arizona.
This, in a nutshell, is why I find it hard to believe the rumor that Michigan is going to play in the Pinstripe Bowl. In addition, this is an expensive area to stay for out-of-town visitors.Good god no. Have you ever been to a Pinstripe Bowl? Paying to see a bowl game at Yankee Stadium in December is not fun. No thanks.
Don't love Yankee Stadium for football, but I've enjoyed every Pinstripe pre-game and bowl.Good god no. Have you ever been to a Pinstripe Bowl? If it’s TT, they will be without both coordinators. DC fired and OC about to be hired as FAU HC.
Pre Game at Stan’s. Many of us do that every year. Nothing bowl like or pregame about it.Don't love Yankee Stadium for football, but I've enjoyed every Pinstripe pre-game and bowl.
Well Texas Tech just annihilated an average West Virginia team, and we did the same to Michigan State, so may be a good matchup. If it’s TT, they will be without both coordinators. DC fired and OC about to be hired as FAU HC.
We did Billy's last year, which was fun and Legends in Manhattan for the previous two and those were great also. Most of us don't go to Yankees games, so having a party in NYC is fun.Pre Game at Stan’s. Many of us do that every year. Nothing bowl like or pregame about it.
I was literally just chatting with my TT buddy and he said the same right before you posted this. And their 5 star WR just hit the portal. I hope it's them just so I can watch it with him.If it’s TT, they will be without both coordinators. DC fired and OC about to be hired as FAU HC.
Well the thinking there was with enough local alumni they would be driving in like we did. This, in a nutshell, is why I find it hard to believe the rumor that Michigan is going to play in the Pinstripe Bowl. In addition, this is an expensive area to stay for out-of-town visitors.
It's not going to be just local alums who will want to attend. Fans from Michigan and elsewhere are going to want to travel to the game, and, as I say, the NYC area is an expensive place to travel to and stay.Well the thinking there was with enough local alumni they would be driving in like we did.
It’s too bad the West side stadium never happened. That would have been a great consolation prize. But I imagine over time its stature would have risen where it might have been a destination game.
They all are on short notice. Sometimes people want to see a new city. One of the reasons we packed Toronto in the winter many have never been. Very nice Stadium too, and they don't play baseball games therePersonally prefer Charlotte. Easy commute, plenty of flights from all airports. Game is late so you would be able to fly in same day and fly out next morning if necessary. Charlotte is a great city.
Yes, they all are -- but the NYC area is in a class of its own, particularly around Christmas and New Year's. BTW, you are far from alone in liking Toronto. They all are on short notice. Well don’t bother watching the 2025Good god no. Have you ever been to a Pinstripe Bowl? Paying to see a bowl game at Yankee Stadium in December is not fun. Lousy field conditions, bad weather, shitty parking and lousy seating. I'd rather play at MetLife and that sucks.

I so much wanted to see that West side stadium - could have been great for pro football (as much as I love NJ, the pro teams are still, fundamentally, NYC teams) and a great destination for a major bowl game right in the heart of Manhattan.Well the thinking there was with enough local alumni they would be driving in like we did.

No, you’re correct. That’s true. It's not going to be just local alums who will want to attend. Fans from Michigan and elsewhere are going to want to travel to the game, and, as I say, the NYC area is an expensive place to travel to and stay.
And possibly a Final Four or Super Bowl rotation too.I so much wanted to see that West side stadium - could have been great for pro football (as much as I love NJ, the pro teams are still, fundamentally, NYC teams) and a great destination for a major bowl game right in the heart of Manhattan.
The stadium was not going to be in the heart of Manhattan. It was going to be on the far western side (between 11th and 12th avenues, near the Javits Convention Center) where there is only the Long Island Railroad's rail yard. Only the Jets were then interested in going there. Whatever the merits of the project (and, yes, it had some), the idea has been dead for twenty years and shows no sign of resurrection.I so much wanted to see that West side stadium - could have been great for pro football (as much as I love NJ, the pro teams are still, fundamentally, NYC teams) and a great destination for a major bowl game right in the heart of Manhattan.
I went last year. We brought the kids and paid for a suite so they could stay indoors and we wouldn’t have to listen to them complain about being cold. We had a great time.Good god no. But that’s still “the City”, and it would have been a popular destination for something like this, a Super Bowl or a Final Four. The stadium was not going to be in the heart of Manhattan.
