Game of Thrones as always lots of spoilers

I feel horrible for Hodor though. Is the intimation that Hodor's life was taken from the time he was a boy just so that he could serve this one duty to hold the door??

The writng on this show is fantastic. How many years (5-seasons) and episodes was Hodor on the show saying only that word? The scene where he is the child, it seems like Bran, Hodor and Hodor's mother all turn to each other, she seems to know.

You look back on his repetition and it seems like each time he shouts that out, its like he is asking, "is it time to hold the door?".

Too bad there are only 10
Episodes per season. My favorite show ever. I understand the production costs are enormous.
IMO they waste a lot of time on some areas of the show. Last night with Arya was a waste. Enough already with the "who are you" and the fighting with sticks. Need to move that whole plot along since they only have 60 minutes and episode and only 10 of them a year.

Agree that the show writers do a fantastic job with the source material, but the credit for "hold the door" goes to book writer GRR Martin. He told the show runners that was his intention with the character. The following is from a writer who was in an elevator with him and wrote about it in 2014:
The final time we ended up together, the conversation went like this:

Me: I finally figured out why you have a character named “Hodor.”

Martin: Oh?

Me: I was thinking about your comment about wanting to be an elevator operator. It’s clear to me now that “Hodor” is short for “Hold the door.”

Martin: (laughing) You don’t know how close to the truth you are!

It's also talked about in the inside the episode.

I can take the Arya beatings. I want the 2 hours back that they spent in SandSnakeLand.

Yes, I can do without the Arya storyline, what's the point of it?

And let's not forget, we saw the origin of the White Walkers. No matter how awesome Hodor was, that may be the most important item of last night's show.

I'm a little confused about the ending, was he still being warged by Brandon while holding the door or was it Hodor?

I see her failing. Her reaction to the play mocking Ned Stark shows she still is Arya Stark.

I think its how she fails. Faceless men are assassins who have no say in who they kill. They won't kill for their own purposes. Just becoming a killer for hire would serve no purpose in the story line. I assume she is going to ultimately become some kind of rogue assassin. I agree with others though...if she just fails and that's it, they wasted a lot of time on her.

Internet consensus is that at the end they showed Hodor with regular eyes, not being warged. A lot are going with the interpretation that his younger personality, Wyllis is in control at the door, and through Bran's mind link the young Wyllis sees his own death and becomes Hodor. Makes sense to me.

Eh, whatever. They're around. More important may be the seeds of mistrust of John Snow planted in Sansa, something the show subtly signaled with a sledgehammer.

Where did that distrust come from. Did I miss something in the episode? Or what this based on background info.

-The last scene about Hodor was one of the saddest scenes I've ever seen on TV.
-Seriously, why is Arya's training taking so long? In most movies nd TV shows, she would have had a few kills by now.
-Dorne will be occupied by someone's army.

everybody is talking about Hodor and The whitewalker creation... I want to know who the actress is that played Sansa in the play. OMFG she is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!
