Since N. tied it at 52 we have collected ourselves and went on a 10-1 run before that final three at the end of the game. These officials should NEVER be allowed to officiate in the B1G. Sadly, this kind of officiating is all too common in women's BB.
Lots of bad turnovers in the second half. Good composure and regaining the energy on defense in the 4th. Good free throws when we could get them. This was an unbalanced game by the refs imo though
With several losses by top 25 teams, Rutgers should be in the top 25 this week.
Almost all of the TOs in the fourth quarter were unforced and I'm sure that drove CVS crazy (at least three of them came from open players making an unneeded extra pass). CC needs to calm it down--4 assists to 7 tos wont' cut it. That being said, the defense never wavered--it stayed at 52-52 for a long time, and once the team got itself back the lead it never relinquished it. Clutch FT shooting to end the game. Wasn't pretty, but team took on a loud Nebraska crowd and held on. Now 3-0 on road in B10, with a very tough week at home. Keep pushing.
But Tina Napier has a long history of being terrible when she officiates our games. Google “Tennessee Clockgate”.
She has always hated CVS. For over 20 yrs I've been watching her garbage officiating.
For those who think it is difficult to watch a football game because so many plays draw a penalty flag, welcome to the B1G. It seems some refs anticipate a foul even before they occur! Where are good refs like Mattingly and Kanter?
Agree with your comments. We were grossly sloppy in the 4th, but continued to play D & righted the ship in the end. FT's were the difference. We shot 75% to Nebby's 60%. Would like to see the men shoot 75%. Good win on the road. Congrats Ladies! Keep it up. Go RU!
Stringer should have called a time out in the fourth quarter when Rutgers was not scoring which allowed Nebraska to tie the score.It was a ugly performance but Rutgers found a way to win which is what matters .They are undefeated in the B1G and should be ranked in the top 25 next week.
I thought she did call a TO? If I remember correctly, we came out of a TO, Harris got triple teamed, made the right pass to a cutting Jenkins, who bobbled it out of bounds instead of getting a lay-up...which is what a lot of the 4th quarter felt like. sigh.
