Football GAMEDAY THREAD: Rutgers Football vs. Michigan State

Every rep that Gavin gets this year is important, you can see improvement, these games will be rough but the speed will start to slow down the more he sees.

After seeing Kyle Monangai run like the Kyle of old and with the return of Brown , Young ,Rochelle Salaam and the kid from Fla. Benjamin the RB room is a strength next season WR is the B1G question that and TE are the areas of concern . The O line has ( 8 ) RS and and additional 3 -4 recruits for 2023. The O line will be a strength as well I’m calling it now. The fact is we need a quality backup QB . Somebody who can confidently take over if the need arises. The only reason Wimsatt is not running more is for that reason. I predict a minimum of 7-8 wins in 2023.

Sure Gavin is more mobile but Tommy was a freshman AA.
Tom Savage should have always been a Rutgers guy but only for our bad luck, an impatient father who pushed the youngster to Arizona State . Tom always liked Greg Schiano ,Rutgers and did petition the NCAA in order to transfer back but his ask was denied .

We are a better team by far in many areas and in some aspects we still have alooooooooong way to go.

Gameday thread only went 15 pages. The fanbase has slipped from angry to apathetic. Not good.

I enjoyed seeing the offense moving the ball today and not having any turnovers. The defense didn’t play up to their prior games. In my opinion we were one referee away from a win today. I am optimistic about next year with Gavin continuing his improvement; a very good RB group; more improvement on OL. Need to pickup more Sean Ryan types and TE.’s.
We should have beat Nebraska and MSU and be 6-4. Which many said would be a successful year. With 460+ yards you would have guessed we scored 30+ points, but penalties killed us. Overall we had played a competitive game in spite of the penalties and some coaching mistakes. What is hard to understand is how we make unforced errors like 12 players on field; off sides on kickoff; and dumb penalties on kickoff returns (a lot) which has caused us field position. And sometimes really stupid because they were way behind the play. Overall I don’t think we are as far from competitive as some believe. Keep the faith.

Add a real OC……definitely can be competitive. Hope we found the right 5 on OL.

Not ASU, just Arizona. And I thought he followed his girlfriend there? At least that's what I read on this board.
