Great wins against NC and NI. Oklahoma was a tough one for sure. Lewis pin that wasn't called. How about our boy AG taking the Nationl Champ down 3 times! Little frustrated with 174 and 197. Bak seems like a pure defensive wrestler. No offense in sight. Hayden started off great against Ness from NC and just stopped wrestling. But I'm nit picking here. Good start and a very tough Oregon State awaits.

Giraldo looked great building a nice lead against the returning champ and #1 ranked 133, but if he couldve avoided the pin and just given up a 3 pt decision then Rutgers wins that match.

that loss won't hurt him come NCAA qualifying time, and duals unfortunately have no impact on anything, so the team gets a loss but no other implications for the season.

overall I concur it was a very good showing by Rutgers in upstate New York. the clobbering of UNC was especially nice as they had quite a few NJ kids in their line up and will likely continue to recruit the state.

Richie Lewis beating Jack Clark, NJ Champ from St Augistines (via Delaware) was good to see. Lewis was Very Impressive. Giraldo later in the day took a bad loss, slowed down as the bout went on. Good learning day for the College Inexperienced guys.
AP had an interesting day. Lost a 1 pointer to a ranked kid in first bout, comes back and beats another ranked guy, finishes with a Pin (if I'm remembering correctly).

I spent 6 hours w Football on TV, RU Wrestling on the laptop, and the wifey giving me glances for my highly productive day ,lol (I did get up leaves from 9-11 am though ! lol)

I watched all three matches from the stands. I was very impressed with the coaching staff. They were all in sync, each knowing their roles, and professionally handling certain things, like a constantly malfunctioning clock. I can't remember seeing our team pile up so much riding time against quality opponents. McCabe continues to improve. Lewis wrestled solid. Gravina looked like a true 184 pounder. Smith is still trying to figure out how to score against the top ten quality opponent. We look like a solid program that is going to have a good year. $$$$

I'm curious about the foremat of the tournament. Did we do a round-robin among the four teams or did UNC, UNI, and OU wrestle again other teams who were present? Thanks.

Curious was there issues with the clocks on the other mats? I stayed on Mat 3 (Rutgers matches) so was not sure if others had similar issues.

They all moved around and wrestled different teams. We stayed put the whole day. I saw WNG in our section. He must have put the word in for us. It was a great day. $$$$
