I’m realizing now that Hobbs had no plan. He fired Ash (a year too late) without having a plan to go to. He is just now thinking through the process and putting together a search committee. WTF? I thought he was ready to go with a dynamic plan. Now we are the worst and weakest team in history and with each game one of the announcers comes up with cute ways to mock us. Things are exploding in front of our eyes. Thinking things would have been better to keep the lame duck coach in place until the end of season.

Agree 100%. Hobbs is in way over his head. Firing Ash and McNaulty was a bold refreshing move that signaled a real change. The problem — this guy have no damn plan after making the move. He managed to take a terrible situation and actually made it worse. The fact that we’re apparently using a search firm and he hasn’t even selected one yet is, well, pathetic.
I’ve said a few times the past couple of weeks. IMO, Hobbs is dead man walking. Once the new President comes in s/he will move him out and get their own AD in here.

The plan was announced that a hire would be made after the season, but you clearly can't comprehend.
That's a really bad plan given that we keep sinking deeper by the day. This program needs good leadership. Hobbs is not providing that right now

I think there is a real difference between wanting Hobbs to hire someone within the first week and actually starting the process and starting interviews with people who are available. Nothing seems to be happening.
Yeah, Hobbs has no plan and is just chilling at the pool and probably won't start looking or interviewing until December. He was clubbing every night this week. You're insufferable and clueless. Hobbs' administration doesn't have leaks so you won't know who or when he's interviewing, and we don't need to waste $ on a search firm...but carry on with your nonsense.

If Hobbs can’t come up with a hire that is any better, more imaginative, and forward-thinking than Greg Schiano, then he really ought to be fired. A lot of you guys think that because your school only ever hired one reasonably competent guy that he is the only one who can perform reasonably competently at that job. And if Schiano fails, which Hobbs probably believes he will, Hobbs himself will die on a hill that was never his. I’m sure he’d much rather hire his guy and want to look prescient for hiring his guy than do swallow the “fine” Schiano pill.

I have no problem with disagreeing with the stated plan, and agree that it's silly to wait, but name me 1 HC that is interested in coming in the 1st 3rd of the season and being saddled with all those losses. The reality is, if anyone is interested, they don't want to take over until 12/1. Maybe they announce earlier and start evaluating and recruiting but how would that work? And I'll add that Hobbs has no authority to fire and eat $10M+ without BOGs approval.
Class is ranked something like 79. What exactly would we be holding together. Flood was hired primarily to hold a much better class together. How did that work out?

No one is saying to bring another coach in to actually coach . Name Schiano as the next coach with an official start date of after the season so everyone knows. If you are going to name a coach after the season yes keep Ash then you keep art and Blackshear and you never know you get a couple of wins. But what we are watching now I have not seen anything this bad in my lifetime in football.

Everyone is free to have opinion but to suggest that Hobbs was qualified to run a B1G athletic program because he lived in NJ and may have been a fan of RU football is a stretch. He wasn’t qualified, and that’s been proven over the past 4 years. But, he’s not going anywhere (yet) so he’ll have a chance to correct the litany of mistakes he’s made with the football program.
You have said that a few times on this board. But Seton Hall seems to be quite happy with the hire of Kevin Willard. Does Hobbs get credit for that?
