In the post game radio interview Pike said they didn’t share the ball the way they usually do. Got to think Mulcahy over dribbling was one of the things he’s referring to.
The staff has to make serious adjustments.
Simpson simply needs 25 to 28 minutes a game......Mulcahy was put under pressure from the backcourt to the front court, wasting valuable time on the shot clock. Pass the ball forward to another player and start moving.
I don't understand how if you plan to start Cam Spencer, how a great FT shooter, cannot find his way to the Free Throw line. Can the staff get something out of a stationary player, who cannot generate his own shot??
Mag is a good defensive player. He is not a starter, under any circumstances. I don't understand the fascination here.....is he a hustling team player?? YES.......but you have no chance to reach 60 points, unless you start Hyatt and let him take 11 to 13 shots a game.
There's no possible way, Mulcahy should stay as a PG full time. He's better off on the wing, where he can create off the ball and be a spot up shooter from the corner or wings. The only player capable of generating anything off a drive and kick is Simpson.
I won't get into Cliff.....he is still learning how to play individual offense, that doesn't require speed and quickness. There's no patience to his offense, he is still learning how to play. I don't see any chance he should be leaving college after this season, his offense needs a lot of work.
Onto Wake Forest and a staff is going to choke on its own pride or make basic basketball adjustments......SHU did nothing but allow RU to let Mulcahy dribble out every possession.
