Watching URI, thinking about the Purdue loss. Corey needs to work on shooting the 3 if he comes back. Otherwise we need a PG who can shoot the 3 other than Baker.

Three pointers are the ultimate equalizer though. For every difficult 2 that corey takes from the elbow, based on the percentage of makes (which i assume over the long season is not high), they just are not worth it mathematically.

3 pointers keep teams in games and can win games. You are playing with one hand tide behind your back if you do not have 3 point shooters...remember Dadika, Coleman, Billet, Shields, Mack.....RU was in and actually won games they shouldnt have because they could hit the 3.

Is Michigan's model and many other good programs before them. Shoot the three, which opens the middle for cuts to the hoops. Make your free throws, relentlessly defend and rebound and you have a program.

The elbow is only a difficult two because it's basically a free throw

Rutgers needs shooters/scorers at every position like Purdue.
This is the key. Rutgers can't continue to depend on one or two shooters. Like you mentioned Purdue, we need at least 4 who can score on any given possession. And hopefully of those 4 three at least can consistently knock down the three.

And with our current roster we will normally have only two 3 point threats on the floor most of the time. That is both hands tied behind your back.

Eugene did a great job during the offseason becoming a "4". This year he needs to go back and hone prototype "3" skills. Issa needs to do what Eugene did last year and be prepared to play as the "4" or "3.5"

If Omoryui develops a 40% three point shot and becomes a true small forward, he'll play in the NBA. He has a long way to go for that.

Now we lose games we maybe could win because we can't shoot the three.
