Just sharing

You are so full of shite it's not even funny. I simply stated in a thread yesterday that it was nice to see Rutgers act quickly for a change. Right off the bat you got lathered up about your political appointee BS. No one knows how Hobbs will turn out and I never said Hobbs was a good hire. No where in the thread in question did you say it remains to be seen if Hobbs can succeed. You were too busy banging the pulpit about political BS. You are the one that took an innocent statement in a place it didn't need to go. Did you got stuck in bridge traffic?

You should have said that yesterday, and not the stupid enema comment about my boy Flood, who I have wanted fired for 2 years now. I'm not full of shit -- nothing I said is wrong. It bothers me that they appointed someone with zero credentials to be a Big Ten AD. I think people should be aware of how this happened and why it happened. Its precisely what's wrong with New Jersey. It could be a big problem for RU, because now we have someone with zero qualifications running the show. We also have a President, and now an AD, who both owe Chris Christie. The same Chris Christie who tried to broker away our Camden campus in a deal with Sweeney and Norcross.

But like I said in your thread, I hope I am wrong with respect to Hobbs, and like I said in the other thread where I was arguing this yesterday, none of the "political BS" means Hobbs can't succeed here. I just don't know what this means moving forward. I fear they are going to UMDNJ us up in short order. I don't want Trenton involved with RU, and have consistently been very outspoken about that. The only things that come out of Trenton are things that are good for the politicians.

Sorry I took your thread in a negative direction yesterday. I'm done beating the drum on this for now. Hopefully Hobbs works out well, and we don't have to worry about what this means for Rutgers in the long run.

Big names are always thrown around. It doesn't mean a god damn thing. Especially when the names being thrown around are virtually impossible.

I'm sure we reached out to Richt maybe Mullen etc. Chip Kelly? Cmon dude you're just throwing out names for th sake of it and inferring Rutgers is "serious" this time. Because of something you've heard... Everyone has "heard" things. Not everybody goes around swinging their dick when they actually know nothing.

I do not doubt that RU has been in contact with some big names here....just want to caution you not to make it sound like a done deal, in any shape or form, or some here
will lash out at you if/when things go sour...as you know, they blame the messenger when things do not work out....

still glad to hear that we are working for something big
Where did I say that it was a done deal? All I said was RU is swinging for the fences.

Chip Kelly is still probably a pipe dream but pass the pipe, lol. He's from the northeast and it's not a far jump from Philly to NJ so what the hell.

He just bought a house in town. Haddonfield is pretty nice and he could use the helicopter to commute

waveslider is solid folks.....just don't misinterpret what he posted as anything other than that.

RU is now acting B1G....not that he needed my backing, but just felt it worth backing it up, since I've been on round table more and haven't been keeping up with every post here.

Alright man. When Chip Kelly quits the Eagles in the next week or so to be the head coach at Rutgers, or at the end of the regular season a month before signing day, I'll apologize.

Too bad for Greg then, if he keeps us on hold and loses out, not our problem.
Im a big Schiano guy, but I have no doubt on this - he'd rather go elsewhere, but will take this job if he has to (and we haven't moved on).

This is always a big game of chicken

I think door #1 is a political hot potato. No way Sen. Sweeney will hold still with Rutgers hiring a3-5mil coach plus staff and pay for it with taxpayer money. He'd have a stroke. It's got to be a door# 2 (donor funds) . just my take.

Sweeney will hold still with Hobbs as the AD

I was just sharing my excitement to the rest of the die hards. Not ONCE I said IT'S a DONE DEAL. My post was about RU really going after the big fish. Not just settling. When Hobbs said that money wasn't an issue I didn't believe him since it's RU. But from the names being thrown around Hobbs means business.

Cabbagehead, I usually agree with you, but I disagree with you on "zero credentials." He was AD (or interim) at Seton Hall, a University with a basketball team in a major conference. He negotiated the deal to make the Pru Center their home court for men's BB. He was involved in building of the Pru Center. Not a long resume, but not small potatoes.

You seem more miffed that Christie forced Hobbs on us. Do you KNOW this, or are you just speculating?
I know Hobbs, and I think he is up to the task. We got a glimpse of him in action yesterday at the press conference. What did you think?

Sorry if I worded poorly...... Basically we should not have the fans expecting a huge hire.... I understand we are contacting big names, talking with them, etc..... And in the end we may still wind up with The earlier names being thrown about that are not the blockbuster type

I just would not want you to be associated with the disappointment... And you should not be... Still much thanks for the info.... We can hope...

That's what worries me. Come on Miami just hire him. Are the powers that be so desperate? He's not the 2nd coming to be waiting on him like this. If you gave him a shot and he didn't take just move on and don't look back.

If you say take it to the bank, you are finished with me. Please keep posting.

Folks need to get back on top of their skis. Glad to hear we are reaching for the brass ring. The thought of GO HUGE OR GO HOME makes great sense. We need to put an end to this experiment once and for all.

But sit back and enjoy the ride and let's see where we land.

setting us up for a fall?? as usual, if that happens ,it gives the complainers a chance to bitch and moan--believe nothing till it happens

If it's Cristobal then I'm happy. but it doesn't mean RU didn't try and go after the bigger names.
I'll be okay with it if we see the big budget for staff like 1M for coordinators etc..then you know even though they didn't get the big names they still mean business. If you don't see that then I don't know how serious any of it was.

If I've learned one thing since Al Gore invented the internet, it's that it's impossible to overestimate the reading comprehension limitations of people on an internet forum. Just part of the grand experience.

Try not to let the morons get to you.

Lol I really don't care if you believe me or not. just wanted to share what I heard. Another quote someone said was " Were going Big, not GS big but someone that has done big things. If he doesn't win here RU might as well pack it up. RU fans might as well concentrate on NFL football."[/QUOTE)

I heard nearly the exact same quote.

Eat less chicken and more salad. You'll be a smaller Schiano guy in no time.

all I was trying to suggest is that not to make it sound like a done deal in the future, in any shape or form... As not to have future back lash

You actually have to re read what I wrote first.... It was innocent enough

Exactly, RUTG44! ^^^

All slider is saying is that he heard we reached out to these guys. Others confirming that. Doesn't mean we'll get them, or even that they'll give us the time of day, but hell, I'm happy to hear it.
