Let's go METS 2016 thread ......Just get in and anything can happen!

Keep moving the goal posts,lol.

I just KNEW you wouldn't answer my question. I will give you credit though for not hiding like the other "tough-skinned" mets fans in this thread.
Come on...be honest. You know that the mets chances of making the playoffs rest solely on the fact that their remaining schedule is softer than cotton candy. And I don't think they're gonna make it anyway.
and again....which New York MLB team is having a better season ?

Im good for a good discussion and all. But why bother even talking about this with an asshat who keeps rubbing sh** in peoples faces? If for some miracle the Mets win the World Series this year, all this guy is going to do is rub some new 27-3 sh** .

I may sound like Im Full of Sh**. But I would be confident with Lugo and Gsellman on the mound during the playoffs. They have done a good job with their chances so far. Yes, the playoffs is a different beast. But with Harvey and possibly Matz out, I would be good with Syndergaard, deGrom, Colon, Lugo/Gsellman in short series.

At the very least Mets have some very interesting pieces to trade with this offseason.

Lol, I always answer your questions Mr. Truth.Have you answered mine about why the Yankees are playing .400 against the National League, while the Mets are playing.539 against the American League teams? It's a small sample for sure, but the way you talk, before I looked it up I figured the Yankees would be 12-3 or 11-4 at worst, not 6-9,lol.Funny how they mentioned the Mets next series is with the Reds, and they just took 2 from the Cardinals before tonight's game. At this point, your the only one who's harping on who's left to play. I don't really give a $hit. It's all about getting in,and as a Yankee fan, you should know that. As you have mentioned a million times, the Yankees won't accept anything less, until this year when they gave up. Well at least the management, owners and fans did. Give credit to Joe and the players, they didn't. In fact, I don't hear them crying about who's left to play, just fans trying to CUSHION the blow.:sunglasses:

Please....you know what the mets record would look like if they had to compete against Boston, Baltimore, and Toronto on a regular basis instead of Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Florida. And all of those injuries.....why are the mets the only team with significant injuries ?
Look...the mets were what is called "buyers". They went out and got Bruce in an effort to keep the Good Ship Metropolitan afloat and in the race for the playoffs. The Yankees were what is called "sellers". They ditched their best hitter, traded their two best relievers, dumped one of their starters, and showed A-Rod the door....all with an eye on the future of the team.
And yet right now on Sept. 1st the Yankees have the best record in New York MLB and are remaining in the race for the playoffs. Amazin'.
OMG, you actually used A-Rod to further your argument?Really? After you said the injuries the Met fans complain about were having bad years anyway? Your kidding right? How foolish does that make you look? A-Rod, who Joe locked in a underground basement, and was told under no circumstances was he to play and hit that 700th HR in Pinstripes. That A-Rod?

Sorry tico, flipping between another great important late season game for the Mets and watching a great Texas- ND football game. Kind of got cheated by how fast Rutgers took the fun out of it yesterday.
I mean the following with all due respect. . . . .it hurts me more than it will hurt you. :chairshot::chairshot::chairshot::chairshot::chairshot::chairshot:

Could be wrong. Dont they already pay MLB players on 40 man whose in minors?

These mets fans don't wanna hear those facts. Nor do they wanna hear about the high percentage of crappy teams left on their schedule. Ya gotta believe.
These losers act like the Yankees....while having the same record as the mets...are suddenly dead and buried, while their club....again....having the same record as the Yankees... is making a big move into contention. Unless they're competing against seriously crappier teams in their division than the Yanks are...how could that be ?
and BTW, to bemoan the loss of Wright, Duda, and Harvey with the way those guys were producing this year is extremely funny.
Harvey was pitching hurt
Duda played a little more than a month and wasn't off to a great start but still had 7 hrs. Projected over a full season he'd still have 25+. That is a big loss.

This series exceeded expectations. Mets could take the first WC spot if SF keeps losing. Just hope they don't go and be Mets and lay eggs agains the Phillies or Braves. Hope Bruce has a monster series against his old team.
Yess sirrr!!!! Everyone concentrating on the STL number that not many people noticed that the SF has been getting smaller as well. Why not go after the Giants and make them come to NY?

The schedule, a broken record.

Some response.
Cincinnati is up next for the mets......who have twenty five games left.....SIX vs. teams with winning records. That's right. 19 of their remaining 25 games are vs. losing teams.
BTW, there are only three teams in MLB with a worse record than the Reds......and, of course two of the three are on the mets remaining schedule.
And there are only two teams in all of MLB that have given up more runs this season than the Reds.
You guys really need to send a Thank You note to the schedule-maker.

I like the hockey idea of a 25/26 guys and have your 4 other starters as "healthy scratches"

One MAJOR OBSTACLE .....owners paying another 150 players major league salaries !!!!
If you do that you would need to legislate that the healthy scratches are all position players. Otherwise teams would simply scratch all its starting pitchers who aren't pitching that day, load up in the bullpen, and games would take even longer.

BUT... if you do add extra position players and then don't let them play, what's the point?

Yup, but talk about not able to handle the truth,Kbee talks from both sides of his mouth. He would make a great politician, lol.

Truth ?
So the mets DON'T have 19 of 25 remaining games vs. teams with losing records ?
And that DOESN'T make their path to the playoffs easier than any other team's ?

BTW, the Yankees have a Big Boy schedule...20 of 27 games left vs. teams with winning records.
