Let's go METS 2016 thread ......Just get in and anything can happen!

Yup, that NLEAST really looks inferior to the ALEAST so far. One team at .700, a couple at .600 and another over .500. Heard a Yankee fan on the fan today, still spouting that tired line about how weak the Mets schedule is and how the Yankees would have the same record. Cut me a friggin break, it's over, your time has passed for the near future. The Mets are better, and you should come to grips with that.

Nice work, Kreskin.

And I see someone already threw up the number 27 up. Im not even going to waste my time with these toe jam fu**s anymore because if for some miracle the Mets win the WS, these Yankee doofs will throw up the 27-3 between the movable goal posts (nevermind only about 9 of those 27 happened after Jackie Robinson, divisions, free agency).

Since 1962, the only ones they won not "tainted" from steroids is 1962, 1977 and 1978. Before 1962,totally different game. No steroids,no divisions,no wild cards. Even the NFL wore leather helmets at the time of most of their wins, lmao.

How many Mets championships were not "tainted" by coke and blow?

But 27-13 against NL teams when it counts!
Hey at last weeks tailgate we were talking about who was the greatest football player they ever saw. I said Jim Thrope. My buddy said Paul Robeson, that he had great open field moves and seemed like he could see behind his leather helmet. Then someone said the Babe was the best he ever saw, and I asked my 40 year old buddy if he had seen the Babe, he said sure, this guy right?

Who cares about these lame f**k yankee fans.

The real news is that Terry Collins once again has a humongous hand in the Mets' latest loss, just like Saturday. He f'ed up not pinch running for WilFlo, a monumentally glaring gaffe, and even admitted it.

Yesterday, although Montero shouldn't have even started in the first place bc he has ZERO control, and that's not Terry's fault(sandy), Montero should've been pinch hit for in the top of the 2nd instead of Montero hitting. With September call ups& seemingly 100 guys in the pen, that was the time to go with an against the norm move like pulling your starter after the first inning. Its obvious Montero doesn't have control of his pitches like a major leaguer should, and he displayed that once again in the bottom of the 1st.

Yet genius Terry waited til the game was out of reach at 6-1 Nats before pulling him, just plain dumb. What ticks me off is how he essentially said (paraphrasing) "I wanted to give the kid a longer leash and see if he could get out of it." When earlier in the year, speaking about conforto, he says (paraphrasing) "we don't have time to groom rookies", and basically destroyed all of confortos confidence in the
process. Yet he leaves Montero in, basically a rookie, to get shelled & lose the game- IN SEPTEMBER!! let alone June when he said that about conforto. Just mind boggling!! I just cannot believe this guy is a baseball lifer, cause he plain sucks at it baseball, as he has no feel whatsoever for the game or strategy. This idiot just gets in the way and he's proven that over and over and over. Didn't know Nimmo has more speed than Bruce? Didn't realize he should've pinch ran for WilFlo? WOW

TC's decision not to pinch run for Flores in that game speaks to a management problem - not in baseball terms, but in general organizational terms. He admitted that he was focused on the pitching matchup and never thought of pinch running. That's where having and using a competent staff comes in. Shouldn't one of his coaches spoken up to suggest it?

My God, it's as if you were inside my head, I couldn't have said it any better. +1000.

So true, and I thought that's was the reasoning behind have a bench coach? Doctor Worm, have you seen enough of Teufel at 3b yet? He's killed them on So many occasions.

The coaching is much worse off after losing bob geren and replacig him with dick scott. Geren is a solid, knowledgeable baseball coach- guaranteed both Bruce and Wilmer would've been pinch ran for in their respective games/losses if Geren was still around. A guy like TC obviously needs a lot of help- he's not the brightest bulb. What the F are Scott and the other coaches doing if they're not helping TC with in-game strategy? Apparently nothing....a not so good problem to have...

Don't even acknowledge them man lol. Yeah their thread is buried, bc we and they know their season is most likely nearing its end. we know that the douchey Yankee trolls are just that, douchey Yankee trolls, now with nothing better to do, than to be douchey Yankee trolls. So just ignore them, or my personal recommendation, BLOCK them altogether in scarletnation.com. Don't even make eye contact with them- you'll turn to stone lol

......and it's only to talk $hit about the Mets.

Just the facts.
Can't handle the truth about the mets remaining schedule, eh ?
Here it is:
Minnesota 3 games.....worst record in MLB....368
Miami 3 games..............493
Philadelphia...7 games.....444
Atlanta...3 games..........worst record in NL....389

Whew....can it get any tougher ?

Sucks for you, nobody here cares. Go to {if you can still find it} the stale Yankee thread, lol.

Doctor Worm, have you seen enough of Teufel at 3b yet? He's killed them on So many occasions.
Short answer is yes I have seen quite enough. But I would add two caveats:
  1. The manager and his staff gameplans this... what outfielders do they challenge and in what situations. So maybe what we think it a bad decision by Teufel is actually him executing a faulty strategy.
  2. Being a third base coach is a unique responsibility requiring unique skills. Maybe Teufel is not the ideal guy for the job, but that does not mean he is not a good baseball man.

One game left for the mets vs. a team with a winning record.
BTW,I just checked the Yankees remaining schedule and it looks a tad tougher.
The Yankees are off to Boston after facing Kershaw tomorrow. Who the mets got after the Nationals ?

No one is arguing that the schedule is easy. It doesn't matter, you play who you play. Sometimes an 83 win team gets in the playoffs and wins the WS, they don't get a smaller trophy.

Cry me a river, you poor baby. Remember, your GM,your ownership, and your fans, gave up on the season weeks ago.Time to give it up, no excuses, not the schedule, and not the injuries, even though half of Vegas is playing for the Mets.Talk about rebuilding, what would you call the Mets have been doing?

1969 Mets were guilty of rampant amphetamine use
I guess you would know Zap, you played in the bigs. Care to enlighten us on which Yankee Championship teams from 1962 on were clean? Amphetamines were the drug of choice back then, without as much media as today to spill the beans. Then came cocaine, but it was the steroids that inflated the on field performances beyond anything that came before, and you know that. PS. One more question, just like we witnessed in football with inflate-gate, what percentage of baseball managers knew, or didn't know what players were drugging or clean?

There's just something really hilarious about fans of the mets, who have won TWO World Series in 53 seasons, trying to denigrate the 27 World Series that the Yankees have won. Talk about sore losers...or should I just say LOSERS. The only thing funnier is mets fans thinking their team is better than the Yankees when they have an inferior won-loss record and play a significantly weaker schedule.
At least the last time they spouted this whole "we're taking over the town" crap back in 1986 they actually did win one World Series. But how long did THAT dynasty last ? mets fans are like a friend of mine describes the Mexican national soccer team's fanbase. Never has a team's fan base talked so much crap when the team actually has accomplished so little.
Come on. 1986 was sooooo long ago. How many of you were even around for it ?
