Can't find any season previews. B1G looks tough with Johns Hopkins, Maryland and Ohio State all highly ranked. Expectations haven't been that high in a long time, but hoping some of the success of soccer and wrestling can flow over to the lacrosse team.

rufamily and Cali will be able to provide in-depth breakdowns, but I'd expect improvements across the board with the exception of faceoff. Attack should be very good with Bieda, Trasolini, and Heninburg all returning and Murphy and Hollingsworth providing experienced depth. Midfield has a ton of options with LSM Sikora, George, Mazzone, and Tolliver leading the way. Defense doesn't have too much depth but Rogers and Groel both return and are solid, and at goalie we've got a bunch of good options.

There is a preview up on SK.com. Sounds like a lot of guys back with face offs being the biggest area of uncertainty. How cold is it going to be at the opener on Sat against St. Johns? BRRRR

Ok I have been to a few practices and went to the Lehigh scrimmage, if JoJo can stay healthy the X will be ok, that is about all you can ask for the year after Nards leave IMO. Attack is strong as Bieda and Heninberg are back playing there the the Canadiian lefty was with them Charalambiedis (sp). Trash, and Hollingsworth both missed the scrimmage and I only saw Tolliver a little bit. Defense was better than last year but still somewhat tentative. It will probably be Rogers, Rexrode and Bronzo with sicker at the pole and Groel as the 4 pole in. There is a frosh pole that may see some time (Pless). the midfield is kind of the issue as they appear to be playing George with Rose and Caretenuto (how is a monster 6'6") they also played Murphy at midfield some with a couple of freshmen (probably playing because of Holly, Tolliver and Trasolini not playing) I think there offense could be good but it was definitely slow as the kept getting the ball jammed up on the wing not very much ball movement. I think at some point that one midfield become Tolliver, Tras, and either Rose or Caretenuto and the second midfield become Holly, Murphy and George. They have 4 good d-mids in Mazzone, Scarpello, Nickulas and Divitcos. The older Scarpello had a couple of goals on Man up and may get some run at Midfield. There biggest question mark in my opinion is the third attackman as I am not sure that this offense fits Charalambides well and he does fit what they want to do, but hopefully he can grow into the job. The goal has been Max all fall and most of the early season. He looked oh against Lehigh he gave up a few goal he should have had as it appears that he has a hitch in his stick, Kris is fighting and played well in his part of the scrimmage against Lehigh. There are a few games that I feel then have to win like st. John's and Army and well as Fairfield, Monmouth, Stony Brook and Delaware. The only gimmies are Wagner and NJIT all of the rest of the games in February and March are winnable games (yes including Princeton) but they are also games that the can lose.

Thanks for the write-up, Family. Heard the squad looked a lot better in last weeks tune up against Hobart and Hofstra.

Sat.'s game has been moved to 3:00 on Friday, thankfully.

Well considering that Trasolnin, Tolliver and Holly are 3 of the best offensive weapons I would think so.

Didn't Nards have an awful (or at least "awful" for him) 2nd half of the season last year? Am I thinking about someone else?

He had a slow start as there were some rules changes he had to get used to, but he was still dominant. Especially in the second half of the season.

Did Traz play against Hofstra/Hobart? Thought he was out till St. John's. If so, that is good news.

Smart to move game from Saturday but I wonder why they did not go for Sunday instead of Friday? Would allow more fans to attend and since its SJU, travel can't be an issue. I think it is supposed to be just as warm Sunday as Friday.

I noticed they have a game next Thursday, so maybe they wanted more space between games.
