The Orange bowl is on tap tonight 8:00 PM with Michigan a touchdown favorite over FSU. This will be the best matchup to date in the current bowl season from rankings perspective. The question is; Do we support the B1G and root for UM, or does our obviously apparent total distaste for all things UM have us cheering for the Seminoles?

Also any predictions?

I am rooting for FSU, but see a 27-17 UM win.

I know a lot of you say cheer for your conference mates, but I find that impossible do for any of them when hear the crap coming from them. Go check out what Wisconsin fans really think of Rutgers. Just the other day after the basketball game most Badgers fans had a lot of sh*t to say about Rutgers not belonging in the B1G and should just leave. If it ain't Rutgers (or Colorado), I don't give a d*mn about them. FYI, I don't dislike them, but they're not Rutgers.

To be fair, everyone makes fun of us, not just the B1G

Michigan's Defense is stout.
I think they have 10 starting Seniors on D plus Peppers.
They should give the FSU offense big problems.
Michigan might have all new starters on D next year if Peppers leaves early. Not that it matters much.

It made sense to root for our conference mates when our bcs status was being questioned in the big east. But these days, who cares? Go Noles!

Completely agree. When the Big East was fighting for relevancy, and you were trying to defend the quality of your conference slate... it made sense to cheer them on in the postseason. Now? Not so much. A Michigan win is just another chestnut for khakis to trot out on the recruiting trail. Good things happening to our division mates is no longer good for us by association.

This is a really tough decision. I have decided on Michigan representing the Big 10 but in an ugly game. Also, I want Peppers to not play well.

Why do you have to root for anyone?

i watch as an impartial observer.

This. Sometimes I'll root for a team, because it gives me something to cheer for while watching. Sometimes I change rooting interests as the game progresses, such as rooting for the trailing team to score. Other times I just watch the game. And other times (like tonight), I may not watch at all.

This is very much what I do, as well. Although I will watch the game tonight.

Rooted for Michigan for years until recently....when I realized what arrogant jerks their fans are.

anybody else catch the segment on Mike & Mike the other day where jerry finebaum just ROASTED the UM fan base for their overblown and undeserved arrogance. Called the them #1 (by far) worst. I mean wow...I never head an analysts go that far to say the things he did on air and yeah, I know he's an SEC shrill) ...but loved it.

(edit: I just saw somebody started a thread on this already as well.)

ps..even with the above. got to root for teams that you played win...it only helps your schedule. As much as we sucked playing them. playing 4 of the top 8 and possibly the NC is a brutal challenge. believe me, rooting for UM or PSU is a tough thing to do..very tough.

Harbaugh a Butthead, Wolverine fans act like Beavis, but still will root for Michigan because some of my family are supporters ( wife's side) because they lived in Detroit.

I'm friends with an ex-fsu cheerleader - so there's that. Also detest harbaugh. Also experienced the biggest asshole opposing fan base near my seats ever this year. So for me this one is easy. And no - no pictures you preverts.

I go with the B1G over the ACC. Whether Michigan wins or loses, the perception of the schools and football programs is not going to change one bit in the minds of HS recruits. We can only change that perception by Ash successfully communicating his vision and demonstrating some tangible level of improvement year over year on the field.

My daughter in law is an FSU grad and big fan but a fat lazy slob. Makes my son do everything. Kids, housework, etc. Just put up with them over Xmas. As much as dislike Michigan, I hope they knock the snot out of the Noles.

in hoops though I always root for the Big 10 school, for football it varies but I will tend to root for Big 10 so in this game I will root for Michigan

as for other schools making fun of RU especially other Big 10 schools...well when RU has done nothing basically in basketball for 25 years what do you expect them to say about us. In football they have done very little but make minor bowls the last 10 years and now have sunk to the bottom of the league. So why are people angry at that. Its about winning

I'll root for the BIG in every game except for PSU. They can't lose by enough to make me happy.

Not rooting "for" Michigan but it's B1G vs ACC and I'd rather a B1G win this one.

It's damn tough to cheer for Michigan with Harbaugh at the helm.

Why would we want pictures of who was sitting near you?
Buck Fitchigan.
Why did you bring up that old Ohio State assistant coach?

Always hope the teams you play win so when you beat them it means something. Our win over Michigan in 2014 meant very little because they sucked. It's not about other teams dropping closer to Rutgersfanexchage.com level it is about Rutgers getting to Michigan's level.

Michigan with Harbaugh and Partridge on staff.
will NEVER root for them.
