I think why the biggest complaint about the refs this game moreso than any other is how it happened. We've committed 17 or less fouls in 13 FULL GAMES out of 18. Iowa 19th game.
1st half **RU 4** Iowa 4
2nd half **RU 17** Iowa 12(4 @13:03)
6th foul 16:39 0 FT 6th foul 9:50
7th foul 14:27 2-2 FT 7th foul 7:08
8th foul 13:50 1-1 FT (+1)
9th foul 13:03 2-2 FT
7:05(10th foul)-2:25(4 more fouls) 7-10 FTs
10:25-2:16, 8 minutes 9 seconds between FGs (0-7 FG, 4 turnovers) but scored 7 points for no other reasons except the whistle-happy refs with a few ticky-tacky fouls called in the first 7 minutes of the 2nd half that weren't being called in the first half. Lose by 5.
5 games we committed more than 17 fouls (all late Nov.-early Dec.)
SF Austin(22 PFs) 2nd half 7th Foul 9:37 15-24 FT
UMass(18 PFs) 6-12 FT
Pitt (20 PF) 12-17 FT
MSU (23 PFs) 2nd half 7th Foul 9:29 22-27 FT
Wisconsin (19 PFs) 11-16 FT
2 quickest halves in 37 halves to 7 fouls were at 9:30 mark left and we had 9 in 13:03 for no other reason than McCaffrey yelling and T'eed up at the end of the first half. We didn't change the way we defended Iowa from the first half, the refs changed the way they called a game. You have to see that is indefensible. I can understand getting into foul trouble constantly, not this team, or players getting chippy, not coachspeak.
