NCAA Day 2 Thread

Beau is a low scorer. He has often been the benefactor but it will bite you if you don’t take shots.

Tough loss for Bartlett as he wrestled a great match. He was aggressive and took all the shots, which is very uncharacteristic of him but Mendez just pulled a rabbit out of his hat there.

Gomez getting crazy and reckless too early and digging himself an early grave.

Where is the fire Cael post?
Every fan base wants their coach fired when things aren’t going well.. been hearing okie state fans say John Smith washed up… even Iowa fans were saying Brands might be over the hump and then glazier saved their b10 finalist streak…

Ohio State has some good ones coming back
Yup we missed our shot to beat them the last two years. They're going to be real good for the next few years. They're a really young team.

Brooks is my favorite PSU wrestler. Humble, dominating and goes out to get the job done with nothing extra. None of the “Bo Nickal run to the middle of the mat and hold your hand out waiting to shake your hand”. Just wins and respects his opponents.

Jacob Cardenas, 4th place at 197 for Cornell. 8th place last year.

Chris Foca, 3rd place at 174 for Cornell last year. Blood round this year at 184.

Each will graduate and have one year of eligibility left. Were stars at Bergen Catholic.

Both could be portal options if Soldano redshirts and/or Poz drops to 184.

You have to win an additional match to get to the 5/6 match. That’s how tournament scoring is everywhere. There’s a large jump to 3/4 and another to 1/2

I still maintain tournament team scoring is stupid. As an example, I don’t know why you get points in pigtail matches. 31 wrestlers were good enough to not have to wrestle a pigtail, yet the two worst seeds get an additional opportunity to earn points for their team. Makes no sense whatsoever.
Pigtails get very little points and their chances of advancing are typically very slim. Their overall contribution are for the most part, minimal.
I don’t think it really matters who finished above or below us. At the end of the day we had the 20th best team score at the national tournament. You either decide if you are happy with that or not
You get it. I was at most home matches, brought my son, daughter and good buddy. We had great pre games, fun at the matches and good times. Along the way, we cheered on our wrestlers, watched them grow and witness two AAs/B1G accomplishments/dual achievements...overall for me a fun year and the wrestler's accomplishments were icing in the cake.
