Nike Currently Gives $130,000 to RU for Uniform Contract

So your alter ego wouldn't happen to be PSUguy410, would it? Would you like some Free Coffee?

You were the one who said Rutgers loses money every year. You think that's because they don't sell enough t shirts? Nope... Once we get full share we become profitable over night

Awesome, so what's your plan for the next 7 years until we get a full share considering we have the worst facilities in the Big 10 and the largest subsidy of any P5 school AND IT ISNT EVEN CLOSE.

I'd love to hear solutions. He'll maybe it isn't unreasonable to think we can jump from a $5 million apparel contract to $80 million.... That sounds perfectly reasonable

No alter ego's sorry. Not sure what the coffee thing was about but I'm done with this discussion for real at this point. If some of ya'll want to live in a delusional world where Rutgers athletics is on the same level as Cal and USCe be my guest. But count me out when we struggle next year and many of you berate the hell out college students who are doing their best to represent our university like you did Laviano next year then complain when we don't make a big apparel deal

It also makes you less likely to live in the city since you have kids which you stated was the case. Most people who actually live IN THE CITY and are college sports fans are young working professionals. The families all move to Long Island and Jersey City away from all the cluster

You are right I misunderstood. I was thinking of the friends I have, that are Rutgers alum, that have children, that live in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.

This is what people talk about when they talk Cal sports

No doubt they have a phenomenal history in winning NC in rowing, rugby, water polo, outdoor track and field and easily can claim more national championships than RU in football and hoops (who can't), but Cal sold its soul to the devil. Sandy Barbour(now at Penn State) made Julie look like a top flight AD when it came to fiscal management (check out their debt issues before you climb all over RU's subsidy) or academic integrity. I lived in the Golden State for over 10 years (1999-2010) and your perception is way out of line.

Bash me all you want guys. It doesn't change the fact that we have been shafted in the past and shafted in the future. Sometimes the truth sucks, but it's a hell of a lot better than living in a lie. Go ahead and lie to yourselves that RU will get a $80 million apparel deal in 2017. Let me know how that works out for u. I'll be at both the Iowa and PSU games this year if you want to tell me in person

tell the truth. You laughed at RU fans when they said we would end up in the B1G. Right?

I never said NYC didn't have any Rutgers fans,

Uhm, yes, you have.....

All of that may be true but I wouldn't hold your breath. If being a Rutgers fan for 20 years has taught me anything, it's that you should NEVER expect more money.

It may be hard to comprehend, but I live in Baltimore now but lived in NYC for a few years after getting my masters. I mean this with respect but NOBODY in NYC cares about Rutgers football.

Ur 1000% full of shit. NOBODY in Cali thinks anything of Rutgers athletics.

REALLY?? What about the 15,000 or so alumni who live in the state, and their families (so let's say 45,000 potential "fans" on any given football-watching Saturday), who were a big part of the reason we were *this* close to getting a slot in The Rose Bowl back in 2006?

Wrong on both counts. We no longer have the largest subsidy, Hobbs just stated so in an interview on News 12. Also we receive a full share after a six year buy in period. Two down four to go. And Cal is not a bigger draw then Stanford a little over an hour away nor UCLA or USC. Sorry my friends in Cali would strongly disagree with you on this point. I'm starting to believe you really haven't been to Cali and are just pulling stuff out of your butt. O yea and they're RU fans so there's three families right there.

No I actually didn't. I was excited to play these top traditional powers but realistically understood that it would be AT LEAST a decade until we could be competitive on a regular basis

Actually there are 20,000 living alumni in Ca. And applications from the state are up over 45%.

Reading through this thread, I haven't seen one thing DNA has posted that has been accurate. Smelling a troll from another school who is jealous.

Not when we were admitted but when people said we would be admitted. As in someday we will get an invite to the B1G....

So this guy lived in Williamsburg, has a family with bars around NYc

Apparently having your Uncle as a bar owner makes you more educated than the NYT.

I say keep this guy around, he is fun to laugh at. Which forgotten eastern school do you guys think he is from? I am going with UConn or Sarah. Sarah is the obvious since they are so infatuated with us.

To tell u the truth man I didn't put stock in it one way or another until it actually happened. Just like I don't get excited when kids commit until they have actually SIGNED their LOI.

So you didn't put stock in RU fans talking about a potential B1G invite because it hadn't actually happened. However, you spent a a good portion of the day shouting down an apparel deal that hasn't happened? Makes sense.

Or it could be bc I haven't broken any rules. I don't know why there's this consensus that because I believe Rutgers has a long way to go to deserve more credibility and money that I'm not a fan.

Maybe it's hard for people that weren't around before Schiano to grasp just where Rutgers was as a program when I attended as an undergrad. To put it in perspective, if you had a choice of going to see the glee club perform or go to the football game, the glee club most times was the more appealing option. I'm thrilled at the progress our program has made and continues to make but at the same time I'm not unrealistic to believe that Rutgers has anywhere close to the athletics departments of even Cal. Cal has 99 athletics national championships in their history, Rutgers has 1 (fencing 1949). Cal has 26 former first round draft picks that have been selected in the NFL, Rutgers has 3 (and zero since 2010). Do u see a pattern here?

And despite all that history, having the #1 draft pick on their team and an 8-5 record they averaged only 1000k more people per game than us last season.

I also didn't know about this board back then but I digress. If one of you can give me an ACTUAL reason why Rutgers should expect an $80 million plus apparel deal besides 'well we're 30 min from NYC' please I am ALL EARS.

But what frustrates me is fans putting unrealistic expectations on the program and then relentlessly bashing college kids when the results don't stack up. I couldn't believe the way some of you trashed Laviano last year. He was a 20 year old kid who put his best effort in week in and week out despite having a bullshit head coach and defense that's secondary was decimated a week before the season. Reading some of the stuff was downright awful and no I didn't create an account to defend him although I should have. I give it 3 weeks into the season before we see the first "Ash is Trash" post which we all know is coming from some d bag the minute RU struggles. That's why I'm arguing, because when people start bitching that we didn't get a good apparel deal and how could this happen, at least it's known that at least ONE of their fans understands that the process takes time.

I have an honest question for you VKJ and it will help me better understand you views. Do you believe it will be over/under 8 years until Rutgers wins its first big 10 football title?

Yea, I see a pattern. A pattern of you making erroneous statements. But your uncle owned a bar and you walked around part of the city so that makes you an expert, all in the face of facts that were shown.

If your aren't embarrassed by your posts here today, you should be. So how is the team you really follow doing?

This guy is beyond delusional. He started an argument waffled his way through his defense making it up as he went along. When that didn't work he takes the "woes me approach" doubling down and going after the miserable fans that went after Laviano last year. Rich very rich!!!

Minus lighting in a bottle it's the over. Which is fine and doesn't mean crap regarding our next clothing deal. For the record, using some of your examples Cal has won 2 PAC football titles in the last FORTY years. Washington 1 in the last 15 years. USCe joined the SEC in 1971. They haven't one a conference championship. They won one Division championship in 44 years.

Spot--One but for one thing (again): they were booing Fudd.

Again, there's about 120 bars in Williamsburg, the drink is one place that I happen to have personal ties to but certainly isn't the only place I would frequent
my cousin this...my family that...my life this...nobody cares about you or the life you don't have. you've spent all day bragging in a thread about this and that to a bunch of people on the internet. my God you're so cool.

Actually he said largest subsidy of P5 schools, which is correct.
