Ok, back in front of a laptop/keyboard again and not on my phone. Let's look at our guard options adjusted for minutes, sorted by total minutes played so far this year.
NF (382 min): 12.1 pts (.349 FG%, .406 eFG%, 11.1 FGA), 3.8 rb, 3.1 ast, 2.2 tov, 1.4 ast/tov, 1.7 stl, 3.8 pf
DS (343 min): 15.9 pts (.350 FG%, .386 eFG%, 14.3 FGA), 5.0 rb, 4.7 ast, 2.9 tov, 1.6 ast/tov, 2.2 stl, 2.2 pf
JD (293 min): 9.0 pts (.329 FG%, .355 eFG%, 10.4 FGA), 5.1 rb, 4.8 ast, 1.8 tov, 2.3 ast/tov, 2.0 stl, 1.6 pf
GG (279 min): 14.3 pts (.355 FG%, .421 eFG%, 15.3 FGA), 4.7 rb, 1.0 ast, 2.9 tov, 0.4 ast/tov, 1.0 stl, 3.2 pf
AW (158 min): 12.7 pts (.559 FG%, .618 eFG%, 8.6 FGA), 6.8 rb, 1.0 ast, 3.0 tov, 0.3 ast/tov, 1.0 stl, 3.5 pf
From a PG perspective (assists, turnovers, ast tov), Davis is my leader. Simpson is a close second, with nearly the same assists but >50% more tov. Our only other distributing option is Fernandes, who is a clear 3rd right now with fewer assists, the worst ast/tov ratio, fewer steals, and fewer rebounds, and way more fouls than the other two.
JD's biggest drawback is his scoring and FG%, especially at the rim and FT line - but he's shockingly been no worse than NF at the arc. If you have scorers around him, though, having slightly less points on fewer shots from the point is balanced by increased assists and reduced turnovers. Though, I could definitely see putting NF in over JD situationally at the end of close games when we are behind and need to foul and hit FTs to cut the deficit.
From a scoring guard perspective, Simpson scores more points than our other options, but on more attempts (because he takes a lot of low value 15+ foot shots) - remarkably, he has worse scoring efficiency than Griffiths. Williams has been the most efficient scoring the ball, but takes fewer shots than any of the other options (he scores more per minute than NF, on 23% fewer shots) .... but adds in more rebounds too, given his size. Fernandes comes in 3rd here as well, imo, but more because he brings more than Griffiths in other areas.
Comparing to what we had last year:
CS (1070 min): 16.7 pts (.444 FG%, .550 eFG%, 12.6 FGA), 4.9 rb, 3.9 ast, 1.7 tov, 2.3 ast/tov, 2.6 stl, 2.4 pf
PM (971 min): 10.3 pts (.413 FG%, .461 eFG%, 9.0 FGA), 4.5 rb, 6.1 ast, 2.5 tov, 2.5 ast/tov, 1.9 stl, 2.6 pf
CM (943 min): 10.8 pts (.395 FG%, .420 eFG%, 10.9 FGA), 6.5 rb, 3.6 ast, 2.5 tov, 1.5 ast/tov, 3.0 stl, 2.7 pf
