Vince Okruch just left the land of premier athletes at Ohio State, but the opportunity to work with two particular Rutgers football stars is enough to make him salivate.
“Having coached against (Rutgers) for a couple years, Janarion is a guy we were always concerned about,” Okruch said. “You wanted to make sure that if you kicked the ball to him the hang time was always such that he couldn’t hurt you.”
“The first thing we’ll do from a return point is enhance that,” Okruch said. “He doesn’t need much to get going. He’s got great foot speed. He’s elusive. We’ll make beyond normal effort to find a way to get him going.”
------------
“Our half says, ‘Let’s make their life miserable. Let’s scare the punter and make him kick a bad punt.’ We’re going to be on the aggressive side of things.”
Enter the 6-foot-6, 240-pound Turay
“Great kid, smile on his face, the kind of guy that blocks kicks,” Okruch said. “Kind of crazy about it. Wants to do it. This is an area of the football team that for the most part has been pretty good. Now if we can get a little bit better at it, that’s going to be our goal.”
"My job as a coordinator is to be an aggressive unit. Once the kids have the opportunity to experience it, we’re going to have a lot of fun. We’re going to be up-tempo and aggressive.”
