OT: 2024 NY Giants Season Thread

Gave up my season tix several years ago - turned out to be a good move. I still hop in on the tailgate a few games a year but that's the end of any good times. That being said, on top of being bad, the team is now also decimated by injuries to the D-Line, Secondary, LB's, OL and even backup QBs to the point that Boyle is playing LOL. The play will likely be at a pathetic level the remainder of the season....which might be a good thing in terms of draft positioning.

The Giants are 2-12 after their embarrassing loss to the Ravens.
Sadly I think they are gonna force a QB pick when the majority of scouts dont have any QB's ranked in the top 10. If they draft Sanders it will seriously question my faith in this team as a fan. Kid seems like a arrogant little diva who thinks he's entitled to everything. I hope they win another game somehow and miss the QB's this year tbh.
They could trade down in the 1st to somewhere between 10-15, pick up another 2nd rd. pick (and possibly more) and take a chance. Hunter is indeed worthy of the 1st pick in the draft but what he brings doesn't mesh well with the Giants' many needs.
I have to be honest, I haven't seen a ton of these guys, but what I have seen I have not been impressed. Then again, the positives and negatives I have been reading about Cam Ward are the same things I was reading about Josh Allen before he was drafted. Can the right coach develop him?
But I don't think you can even seriously worry about the pick or think about it until you know for sure who will be making it and coaching the guy later on. Too much uncertainty right now.
Very good points. I’ve never been a fan of Sanders and the sideshow it would bring here. He’s already played the media with stuff like having a football catch on a NY street with the Giants top receiver. That was all set up. He’s creating publicity for him the same way his dad did and does. Only difference is his dad backed it up as much as I dislike him.

I'd rather have him. They have so many holes though. Hopefully a team is looking to trade up and give them a ton.
I dunno. Could use Hunter at CB and bring in a bridge QB. That would likely take changing the GM and coach out as they will likely draft a QB to save their jobs.
Winning another game is a tricky situation.
Philly is 12-2 and Washington is 9-5.
If Washington wins out and Philly loses out I think Washington takes the division.
But that would mean we best Philly in Week 18.
I would really enjoy knocking them out of the the division.
But we likely tank our draft prospects and end up for a mid to late top 10 pick.

He's creating hype about his son. This is what Sanders is very good at and we talk about it. His plan worked. I hope the Giants pull off a win somehow and miss out on him. After many years of garbage NYG football I'm only looking at the position skills. Deion can certainly be a distraction and controversial, but he plays good within the Colorado bubble. He elevated the school, admins, teams, fans, town etc. I've never heard him say a bad thing about his employer, and cant see him being gratuitously disruptive for NYGs if Shedeur was hired by them.
On the skills side I consider him the most NFL ready QB by far. A lot of the best QBs had fathers that were coaches (like Mahomes) and were learning the position young. Shedeur led CFB last year with no run support and a hideous OL. This year he has 4000 yards with 35 TDs to 8 INTs. With that came highest completion rate of 72.4. All that with horrible pass protection
Dwayne Haskins had huge stats at Ohio St but he became a dud in NFL. Cam Ward might be great but I never watched much of him. But I l know Maimi could block. Shedeur I saw a lot of and I know he's very tough and smart - and throws long balls very low. Lots of QBs who throw 60 yds long do it will balls that go high like drones. Shedeur can throw a 40 yd pass that looks like a 20 yd pass. Fans can miss that because of TV angles
Shedeur had miserable protection at Colorado - 95 sacks allowed for 2 years - 132nd last year and 123rd this year.
Miami had 39 sacks allowed for two years 17th and 61st.
For rushing Col was 133rd in 23 and 134th (dead last) in 24
Miami was 44th and 45th in 23
Cam had real base under him
Shedeur isn't a football factory QB who played with great blocking/running.
He could still make stuff happen with the always crappy NYG OL.
I can't imagine Shedeur being near a bust - he'll be a solid franchise QB quite able to win a title.
I think the Maras would like him and appreciate having more player leadership than they've had in a long time.
I believe he has taken near the most if not the most sacks in college football. The Giants give up a ton of sacks I don't see that going well. Defenders in the NFL are way faster then college I can't see that being a good thing for him. I'm not to high on Ward either tbh. He has gotten better every step of the way during his career. I would rather the Giants go BPA or trade back for a haul of picks if they have a willing partner.
Leadership, he threw his team under the bus after the Nebraska loss. He pushed a ref because he was getting ruffed up and the refs missed a call vs Kansas. You hear rumors his own teammates don't even like him.
I watched Andrew Luck get his career and health wrecked by dreadful OLs -Savage too tbh.
If OLs are so bad the QB is getting walloped all game then it doesn't bother me if QB hangs-out the dirty laundry .
Shedeur has been taking a lot of dirty hits in 2 years and I don't mean just extra contact but strategic aiming.

Yup I saw that brutal hit. It doesn’t excuse what he did. He should’ve been fined for touching a ref. In the NFL he would. Missed calls happen every game. Players on other teams can’t stand his sense of entitlement hence the ruff stuff. I don’t agree with the dirty stuff but the guy seems like a prick.
He reminds me a little of Kadarius Toney.

Well, I found out that the Giants had the #1 draft pick in 1951 and 1965.
On the same day that I find out that they have blown the chance to have the #1 pick in the 2025 draft....by winning a game.
So the same Giants HC and GM who picked Daniel Jones to start over Lock and then picked Cutlets to start over Lock are the 2 misfits we're gonna trust to pick our next franchise QB?

Mara wanted to keep Saquon but he wilted before his staff - who got rid of Saquon and Kept Jones.
Now Jones is gone and Saquon is on verge of NFL season rush record (he is already over 2000).
In 2025 the NYGs will be 100 years old since a Mara founded them.
The current Mara is too much of a cupcake and does silly things he doesn't want to do. and NYGs all the worse for it
