Mets were an expansion team so I'd think that 40-120 still isn't the worst winning percentage in history. šŸ˜
You are correct - it isn't.

The 1962 Mets have the record for most losses, not worst winning percentage. The 1916 Philadelphia A's went 37-116, a percentage of .235.

Thank God for the Spiders, šŸ˜Ž in a response to kbee, of all things he's stated this would make his day, lol too funny.
Worst Records, MLB History
(Min. 150 Games Played; W-L, Win Pct)

1899 Cleveland Spiders: 20-134, .130

We are going to have another game or two we may look bad but something just feels good with this team.

Acuna may be one of these kids who will play better in majors than minors. Maybe was bored and not challenged in minors !

Great to see Mets bats wake up. Hopefully Vientos and JD get out of their slumps soon

Terrific outing by Megill !

Hopefully we can get the sweep tomorrow !

Love a 2 game lead. Need to extend the lead as much as possible given next 3 opponents: Phillies / Braves and Brewers!

If either the Phillies win or the Mets win tomorrow, the Phillies can clinch the East Thursday Night,a night that I will be in attendance right below the media booths. The Phillies can't rest anybody now if the Yankees keep winning, needing to look that far ahead.
The Mets can get the second wild card, possibly playing the Dodgers in the first round if the Padres win the West.

Mets now in second wild card position. Tied with D-Backs, but with tiebreaker in hand. Two games up on Braves. Currently three behind Padres, pending completion of their game with Astros, tied 2-2 in the 7th.

Padres host White Sox this weekend. They will be tough to catch.

After the White Sux, Padres have 3 against Dodgers and 3 @ Dbacks.
Obviously, Mets have their own tough road.
Dbacks have 4 @Brewers then the 3 against Giants at home before their finale with the Padres at home.

Such a great season so much for all the naysayers that Cohen was going to throw away the season. Even had some Varsity fans chirping early on with the "record" start that was going to set the all-time win total. That changed June 1st quickly. With a lot of money coming off the books next year and some key young players in the pipeline from flushing those 2 pitchers last year the future is bright. I already feel we are playing with house money.

Braves lose again. Hooray. Go Reds!
And Rockies on top!

if we are talking about next year, still so much unknown. We wonā€™t shell out a long time contract for Pete but maybe heā€™d take a three year wirh an opt out to try to get some value back. Alvarez needs to come into his own. Who knows if Diaz can recapture his form? Will Iglesias take his OMG elsewhere? And of course, the Soto question. I feel if we resign meanea and sign a free agent starter thereā€™s enough with senga and the other young talent that can battle for the fourth and fifth slots without overpaying for severino and Quintana.

Lindor is starting SS next year. Will be interesting to see what happens with Iglesias, Acuna, Mauricio, McNeil, Vientos... that's 5 players for essentially 2 spots, 2nd and 3rd. Assume Vientos is the every day 3B, then you've got Mauricio, Acuna, Mcniel and Iglesias all eyeing up the 2B position on opening day next year.
McNeil stays because he's signed and he can play OF as well... curious about the others

I could see Iglesias and McNeil in a straight up platoon, with the latter also seeing some time in right.1 I could also see McNeil being traded with Cohen eating some money in the contract. If Pete goes, vientos could also move to first opening the door to Mauricio and yes, Baty.

I doubt Iglesias returns. Somebody will make him a priority, and I don't think the Mets will, given their roster construction.

Mets fans should want the third spot... Arizona's rotation trending down and Padres trending way up. Both teams have really been hitting for past month but I would be more afraid of Padres lineup in a series.

Uh we want as many paths possible at this point. And we gained ground on rhe Padres last night so a home series is not our of the realm of possibility.
