He just didn't have the put away pitch tonight. Got hurt multiple times on 0-2 counts or with 2 outs. Then once Ottavino was brought in fuggetaboutit.
They pitched around Vientos to get to Pete the big fish Alonso. Typically sound strategy. Especially because the bases were loaded.

And this game. I didn’t have a good feeling about Peterson tonight after seeing the Phillies so recently and I was right. God ottavino sucks.
Why even play Martinez at this point? F veteran loyalty. Even against a lefty play Taylor in RF and let Marte DH.

Less than 12 hours later, players and coaches get "ussed.” Mendoza, "ussed." Made a bad lineup. Pete, "ussed." Mets should get rid of him. Martinez "ussed." Get rid of him too. Otto, re-"ussed." Get rid of him already.
Expect much more from "us" if the Mets lose today.

Very big game today. A win insures going into Atlanta with a lead over the Braves no matter what.
Funny how thread is empty when Mets win, but it is a long shit fest when they lose.
