That's good company to be in.
I'm watching games on the SNY App. EVERY SINGLE COMMERCIAL BREAK- the Verizon phone commercial where the dude puts his phone in the washer, the woman drops her phone on the street, the couple backs up and their phone falls off the car. Same thing on TV? I want to break my Verizon phone and switch providers.
Now that's off my chest. Great game all around today. And the lead "should" be large enough for Diaz to get the save.

Whew ! 8/22 - 8/29 are going to be huge critical games. Think they’re all road games.

Yes! We can hope that the name of the movie is How the West was Won. That will be quite the run of games. May try to get out to Arizona to catch a game -Chase Field is a fantastic stadium.

I remember the collapse in 2022 when the experts said it was a lock because the Mets had the weakest remaining games. Someone forgot to tell those teams.
But the Mets can put one or both of the Padres and Diamondbacks on their heels if they can sweep one or both of those series.
Sure. But they will then play the rest of the season.
Maybe as important would be to take 1 of 3 from the Padres and 3 of 4 from the D-Backs to secure the first wildcard tiebreakers against them.

A lot of unpleasantness in this game. But the play I will remember is Severino failing to back up a base. AGAIN.

If he doesn't work out, can always DFA him and bring up this lefty outfielder who is just tearing it up at Syracuse. Guy's name is DJ Stewart I think.
We should begin to see some of the 2024 draftees getting some game action this week. The official FCL season is over but because there is still time they are beginning a FCL post season season, not be confused with a playoff. Benge and some other have been assigned there and will get some time.
Jett Williams started to get some swings in as well after his surgery so we may still see him get some time before the year is out. If not he'd be a prime candidate to get sent to the AFL.

The Olympics have been far more enjoyable for me. Didn't even bother to turn the boring Mets on until the bottom of the 7th. What's worse is that the Braves have been losing left and right yet we don't have the team to take advantage of it.
