OT: 2024 NY Yankees Season Thread

What is it going to take for Steinbrenner to pull the plug on Cashman/Boone?

Clearly the revenue stream stays strong if he does nothing.

Well, attendance doesn't seem to have suffered during the slump. And they keep adding more and more commercials to their Yes broadcasts. Soon enough they'll probably have them between every pitch. "That two-seamer was brought to you by Audi."

Tonight I put Holmes on the "gotta be replaced" list.
Right next to Nestor.
But Cashman is at the top of that list. He gets a majority of the blame for where this team is at.

Holmes isn't even an 8th inning guy anymore.
He become the guy that pitches when the score is 13-3.

Don't the Marlins/CWS/Rockies have a closer?
A's closer won't come cheap.

Amongst their many shortcomings that have become obvious during the last 30 games or so, there is not one arm in the bullpen that there is any reason to have confidence in.

It's being reported that the Yankees have agreed to a deal with the Marlins for inf/of Jazz Chisholm.

L

Hey that .245 BA will solve all their problems
He's already the 3rd best hitter on the team. It' s a savvy trade as he's under team control for a few years and can obviously take over for DJ when he get tossed.

The first two innings tonite highlite everything wrong with this club...can't hold runners on base, CF doesn't hit the cutoff, error on SS, and the list goes on.

This us 100% on Cashman and especially Boone.

Guys aren't held to any standards.

Oh...and the starting pitching is absolutely brutal.

Blow it up!!!!

Shouldn't Hal get most of the blame?

Awful 3rd base coaching job.
It was a stop sign but he was completely out of position.
The first guy was scoring easy, WTF is he doing

The Boston guy getting tagged out at 3B while talking to the coach was the difference tonite.
I thought the difference was #99 for the Yankees and his six at bats...four hits and two walks.
And we actually had a closer tonight.

We did have a closer tonight. See what can happen, when they stop counting their money for awhile and concentrate on the game.

amazing any team allows him 4 clean AB's anymore. Dude is the most dangerous hitter in baseball.

Not when he has JD Davis batting behind him.
That is a problem...when do they expect Stanton back?

BTW- what are expectations for Jazz? I'm not sure he helps all that much with his lifetime .309 OBP

Stanton is supposed to re-join the team on Monday (tomorrow).
The Martian may not be too far behind him.
Also, I've heard lots of stuff about Chisholm...all good as far as on-field stuff.
One problem I keep hearing about his personality and the possibility it might clash with some of the current Yankees, particularly Judge.
I know nothing about the guy. I don't follow the NL much.
We'll see.
