Sayreville.Peter Genovese from the food wagon on NJ.Com went all over the state and he said this joint was decent. IT IS Killer burnt ends and nice sweet ribs and a home made sauce that rocked the house..Outstanding sides.
Ambience ? Not so much but hey its a BBQ joint. Worth the trip .Check it out.

I've never had a decent burnt end in NJ. This random post has caught my interest.

82 I had them in Kansas City a few times. Loved 'em.These ,for me, we're just as good. The bbq sauce was atomic.

It's already calling to me. Are they open til 1am on Friday nights?

Live 5 minutes from there & have heard numerous people rave about the food. I'll have to get there in the next couple of weeks

After I hugged the cook they gave us a free peach cobbler for the long trip back to Monroe..

I've been searching for a good BBQ place for a while. Most of the time, I just smoke a bunch of things myself. Will have to check this place out on days when I don't have the time.

If you're in North Jersey, but west toward Sparta, Texas Smoke has decent BBQ. On Highway 15 in Jefferson Twnshp. Have won numerous local and state competitions.

Yes the burnt ends are awesome here. A bit pricey but good bbq is hard to come by in nj. Ps Local Smoke in neptune is good bbq also.

Mighty Quinn's in north jersey is probably the best BBQ I've had in jersey

Finks in Dumont is really good.

Although not in NJ, right over the border from Bergen County in Blauvelt, NY is Baileys on Rt. 303. Excellent BBQ.

Maybe they are all good? I think bbq ,. Portuguese, Brazilian or southern /Midwestern , is the next culinary wave in Jersey. And the sides are killa'..

Anyone try the new bbq place in red bank? Is it worth the trip?
Funny enough went there tonight, was not impressed.

Jalapeño poppers came out ICE COLD. Like they were sitting in a refrigerator. Guy grabbed us a "fresh" order but they were still not hot. Tasted okay to though.

Dinners came out and all 4 of the sides (2 orders of collards and two Mac n cheese) were again ice cold.

Food was good, nothing to go out of the way for. I would put it on the same level as brother Jimmys.

For what it's worth, the table next to us sent back their food (not sure why) and as we were leaving the guy behind the counter was apologizing to a customer profusely on the phone.

Maybe it's because the place is new, but I don't think I'd go back.

91, The minute the door openeso we were engulfed with the smell of pork, hot sauce and smoke..There is another place, in of all places , East Brunswick on Tices Lane and Rte.18 that I tried last year. Pretty tasty if still there.

Must be good, always see good write-ups in local papers when writing about BBQ. The Star Ledger (Big Dog) summer road trips usually mention them. I think there is a place in Wharton (Rib Hut ???) is also good. Haven't had theirs.

There was a Korean place on Rt 303 that was called BBQ and it was good Asian style, but not real American BBQ. A different eating experience, but fun.

Very good ribs, pretty good brisket.......excellent sides

Good amount of smoke, but not overbearing

I've been to some places in NJ where they go overboard on the smoke, overcook the ribs and don't even take the membrane off the back

Don't really know, but heard that fall off the ribs BBQ is really overdone ??? Might be like a wine comparison, it might only cost $ 5.00 / bottle vs $ 35, but if you like it, that's all that matters.

We just reheated the leftovers from last night plus peach cobbler ..I am in love..Night night.

Yeah, ribs are supposed to have a little tug on them, just not fall apart. Ribs are hard to mess up though

I'm a big fan of the Hambone Opera located at the Trenton Farmers Market. The menu is not as extensive as some of these other places, but what he does he does well.

Anyone have any experience with Hamilton Pork in Jersey City? Menu seems a bit pricey, but if good, could be worth it. Hasn't been open that long I don't think.

Not sure if they smoke the meats or grill or roast, they don't say.

Ever been to Billy Joe's Rib Works in Poughkipsie? It's on the Hudson water front with outdoor dining available. It was an ice house before being converted to a restaurant. Ambience is very rustic, place is clean and the food from sides to ribs to beer selection is worth the 1+ hour ride from NJ.

Thanks. My new standard for rib tasting.
Went to Harlies yesterday. Great ribs and ya gotta do da baked beenz. Hard to find for those not in the area. Going south on rt 35/9 take right after Costa Verde, across from car wash.If there's collard greens, you know it's f'reel Southern.
