I think once they covered the first time they just got deeper and deeper.I am trying to remember but has it been figured out what the F Sandusky had on all these guys to allow this to go on for so long?
And then protect the name of PSU at all costsI think once they covered the first time they just got deeper and deeper.
Well, it worked pretty much . The school had some bad press and some people lost their jobs . There were some bs sanctions that didn’t last. Football program had a couple down years, but within 3 years one of their worst teams beat one of our best. Within 4 years they win the BIG title and play in the Rose Bowl . So the brand overcame it !And then protect the name of PSU at all costs
See.. this I don't get. Prisons should be run rape-free instead of using that violence and worse to leverage plea deals or as some kind of satisfaction/retribution for the public.Hopefully while in prison he is able to experience some of the same 'joys' Sandusky's victim's endured as well. That would feel most appropriate

Now that I do not buy. I think it was a simple calculation.. if they believed it to be true, then they would have to do something that could stain PSU and PSU FOOTBALL and JeoPA forever.. so they chose to not believe it and try to limit Sandusky's access without making waves. Willful ignorance. My guess is that a lot of the people just found it impossible to believe he did anything. But, once a pedaphile feels he is getting by people, he just keeps on going.
The reason that PSU didn't get the death penalty was that it cleaned house, got on its knees, and begged for mercy. I don't blame the new administration. They tried to establish a new culture, but it was (and is) not possible there. Then when the NCAA caved and rescinded the sanctions, the culture warriors claimed vindication and it was again business as usual in Happy Valley.I can accept paying players , hiring shady coaches and academic fraud .
But that program should have been shut down and kicked out of the BIG .
They really didn’t limit sandusky’s access . Seemed like he could show up and take a shower anytimeNow that I do not buy. IIRC, what happened (or at least part of what happened) is that the PA legislature passed a law that the child abuse fine must be distributed to PA institutions. The NCAA, stupidly in hindsight, sued to prevent it. This gave PA the legal standing to countersue, which they gleefully did. Their argument was that the NCAA lacked the authority to sanction the institution in what they claimed was a criminal matter limited to specific individuals. If the case went to trial, it would be heard in PA. One hell of a home field advantage. That was part of reason.
Lawsuits against the NCAA over the sanctions, including one the Paterno family was a part of, were filed and Pennsylvanian Government officials put pressure on the NCAA Every way they could including fighting for control of where the child abuse fine would go.
The NCAA caved under that pressure and ran for cover.
Pervert State U made like they didn't know or have a hand in the fight to rescind actions.
NCAA acted like they believed that and went on to make like the culture around the football program has changed even though everyone else could see the Cult still ruled
Emmett wanted to end the fight and hired Mitchell to find an out .
Out found > Pervert U claimed cured

Saw a bumper sticker the other day on a State Penn totally tricked out (bumper stickers, magnets, license plate holder, rear windshield decals, etc.) pick up with NJ plates:Doctor Worm said:

As to "cleaning house"? Well I don't know. Yes, they fired the President and Athletic Director, because they faced criminal charges. Not exactly profile in courage stuff. Many boosters/alums wanted them gone because they did not maintain the code of omerta to protect the coach.
In short order every alummi elected member of the board of trustees that did not subscribe to the innocence of JoePa dogma was replaced by a Lubrano clone that wanted to maintain the sanctified fiction of the old man and his cronies. One of the board members is the old creep's kid.
President: They hired a Happy Valley lifer who only departed for a short stint at Florida State where his key accomplishment was keeping Jameis Winston on the field despite rape allegations.
AD: They hired Sandy Barbour who left Tulane after they refused to hire her pick of Rich Rodriguez for coach?
It's the same old stinking Central PA manure pile.
