Want proof our country is going to crap? Look no further.

They close at 11PM on weekends now? What kind of nonsense is that?

Before COVID they would be open until 1AM/2AM?

How in the world am I supposed to regret eating a fat lady while drunk at 11PM?!

Not all change is good, folks.

I’m sure there’s plenty of regret you can still have at 1AM

It’s NOT great food but as someone who has been there 50+ times, post-midnight, I agree with the OP!!!

BTW - isn’t the “Fat Lady” the idiotic woke version of the “Fat Bitch?” I know a few places have gone insane “woke” with their sandwich names as such.

Who knows, I always went with the Sanchez - extra dirty.

I’m surprised there was no talk of grease trucks vs hoagie haven ITT.

You're taking about a sandwich, right?

I haven't been there in 23 years (last time was after my last class for my MBA in 99) but their cheesesteaks were fantastic. They don't (or least at the time did not) chop up the steak like in Philly, left them whole. Wonder if the same guys are still there.

Remember when you could get a Trash Can at 4 am at Greasy Tony’s, likely from an ex-con with more grease in his hair than on the grill? Ah, good times.

White Rose is still open 24/7...

Just fix yourself a sandwich at that hour. How hard is that. Heck, prepare it before you go out drinking and put it in the frig that way when you walk in you're good to go.

Been eating cheese steak hoagie double meat heavy lettuce tomato and oil and vinegar since 1980. Driven a half hour out of my way many times. If I could choose a last meal this would be it.
That's a crazy combo. I gotta give it a shot. You only live once.

Sounds like the old Trash Can from Greasy Tony's - used to love those...

A cheesesteak in regular sub form is pretty good (LTO and O/V). Not a regular thing for me, but a nice change of pace.

Mayo no, but oil and vinegar yes?
Mayo and ketchup blend just like russian dressing, which is a staple on Reuben sandwiches. Not seeing/tasting a huge difference.

But this calls for an experiment-eating a cheesesteak with mayo and ketchup and a Reuben with Russian dressing for dinner side by side.

That's fry sauce. People go crazy for the stuff in Utah.

Basic ketchup and mayo is pretty meh to me but some of the spinoffs are good. BBQ sauce + mayo is surprisingly good.

Don’t they also only allow 4oz beers in Utah?
Nah.

Maybe you're thinking of near beer, which used to be 4.2 percent. Raised to 5 percent a couple of years ago, only because other states (incl CO) that had it on the books got rid of it and no profit in making it anymore so beer Co's stopped. Day they switched they had to just destroy thousands of 4.2 beers, lol

Not only for supermarket and gas stations, which I think CO still has, but the max for taps. Anything higher has to be bottled/canned. And only sold at full bars or in state liquor store.
