OT: Jon Stewart to return to The Daily Show

I'll be tuning in. Have really missed him and The Colbert Report.

Stewart, unlike Kimmel, Colbert, and the rest of the late night hosts actually has talent and is funny. Stewarts achilles heel is while he does very occassionally make fun of democrats and Biden, The ratio is way off. Its like 90 make fun of Republicans and Trump to 10% Democrats and Biden. He will do so much better bringing that ratio down to 50-50 or even 60-40. I will tune in a few times to see if he can at least be somewhat equitable.

He’s influential to the unassuming viewer

It’s not network news, it’s a long running show on a comedy channel. Anyone who is a viewer is going there for a specific viewpoint - not like he’s influencing people unaware of the political divide.

while Stewart was definitely late to the party regarding Covid, he did charge pretty hard and did sway a number of leftys to at least question the narrative. As I stated in my previous post, Stewart has talent and is funny but he needs to be an equal opportunity offender to both those on the left and the right.

Not sure about what the % ratio will be going forward but I expect him to poke fun at both Biden and Trump as the comedy presents and writes itself. IMHO, the world would be much less divisive if people could be open to laughing both at themselves and their "side". Humor is humor.

Good comedy is usually based on truth. And the truth is that right now the "right" is wrong.

Some may not like his slant from the Daily Show.....but Stewart has been pretty vocal and admirable for his advocacy causes...ie...911 Responders and Veterans.

Found him much more enjoyable to watch on the Daily Show than Noah.....and of course this is for a ratings boost during the election cycle.....but then again, what isnt these days.

Actually I think the real difference might be that I work 60 hours a week, raise, house and provide for a family, have taken care of ill parents, ran a business, coached my kids, spend time with friends and extended family......... while you're alone...... spending all your free time drowning in a bottle or searching for things that confirm your existing biases with last hopes of grasping at elevating your status through society collapsing into anarchy or civil war. Lonely, single, idle men is becoming a larger problem in our society..... separated and tied to worshiping media personalities / social media outlets.
