I remember coming over the bridge when I was a kid and seeing giant boobs on the screen. Pretty cool when you're 10😨😨Yes it was. The screen faced Route 9 and the Parkway

If it's the same Mike that volunteers every year for The Saint Stanislaus Church Fair, in Sayreville then we're talking about the same person, and yes, he treated my son great and was a great guy.Mike is one of my closest friends - we go back about 45 years. One of the all around nicest people you'll ever meet.

I don't know about Delilah's but the location you're talking about was 3 blocks from my house. I remember the name Colonel Cooper's back in the day (50's & 60's). My grandmother lived right behind it and I was a block away from the Hospital.Delilah's was where the old City Lights/JJ Rockers was further South on the North Bound side of 35.
A lot of my extended family went to St. Stan's.....even though my S'ville mom and grandparents went to Sacred Heart in SA. Sadly, I have been to St. Stan's cemetery a bunch of times over the past few years. That older generation is thinning out.Yep. Same guy.
I ran the food tent for the St. Stan's carnival for about 6 years. The last year was... '17, maybe? I started when our girls were at SJV together.
I'm told that back in the 70's & 80's things worked in reverse. Cars here on Staten Island were stolen and driven over the Bayonne & Goethals Bridges to be put on ships heading overseas.Holy shit, this guy who owns a pizzeria up the road from me claims his car was stolen from there back in the 80s “in his prior life” and claims he found out where it was taken in Staten Island and got it back by “handling business”. At the time I thought he was just a being a typical North Jersey/Staten Island goombah but who knows.
I also grew up in Sayreville but I was a block away from So. Amboy and most of my friends were from So. Amboy. I did graduate from the first class in the new Sayreville HS. It opened when I was a Jr and the Sr's were housed in the old HS.Growing up in Sayreville I saw a million movies there, even some when it was Amboys Drive-In:

Anyways. this is one of the ideas they had in building a minor league ballpark there:

OMG, was your father named Frank (and called Moose) and you're grandmother's name Mary?I saw a lot of movies at the the drive in. My grandmother used to work the booth and let us in for free. Then it became a cinema whatever. Started at 4 or 8 don’t recall. Saw a lot of movies at the cinema as well. Then they closed it. Best I knew was some “foundation’ problem.
AKA Wilson School. I went to 6th grade there.I also grew up in Sayreville but I was a block away from So. Amboy and most of my friends were from So. Amboy. I did graduate from the first class in the new Sayreville HS. It opened when I was a Jr and the Sr's were housed in the old HS.
I went to Sacred Heart in SA. Class of 1960. May have known your relatives.A lot of my extended family went to St. Stan's.....even though my S'ville mom and grandparents went to Sacred Heart in SA. My younger brother (9 years) went to Arleth School in Morgan before going to Sayreville HS.AKA Wilson School. I went to 6th grade there.
I'm going to guess you grew up by Tarallo's.I also grew up in Sayreville but I was a block away from So. Amboy and most of my friends were from So. Amboy. I did graduate from the first class in the new Sayreville HS. It opened when I was a Jr and the Sr's were housed in the old HS.
I believe my mom and her 3 siblings went to the SH school until 8th grade. If my math is correct, she may have finished 8th grade in 58'ish. However, her siblings were both younger and older.I went to Sacred Heart in SA. Class of 1960. May have known your relatives.
Movies about politicians? 😉I remember coming over the bridge when I was a kid and seeing giant boobs on the screen. Pretty cool when you're 10😨😨

Arleth School is on Washington Rd, do you mean Selover School? My younger brother (9 years) went to Arleth School in Morgan before going to Sayreville HS.
One of my favorite memories is going to school in the morning and smell the cookies in the air. I could still smell them. When I think of Sayreville I think of these things :
1. gentleman’s clubs on route 35 (Probably many of them were in south Amboy, not Sayreville).
2. Amboy cinemas (which ironically is not in either of the amboys)
3. Sunshine biscuit . Loved hyrdrox .
4 . Myles hartsfield and the football hazing scandal .
5. Bon Jovi
6. Morgan marina (not sure if this is Sayreville)
Actually, the current Head Football coach at SJV graduated with my younger son from Raritan HS. SJV great school and a couple of times I've called into WFAN and talked to Jerry Recco about HS playoffs with Jerry. His 1st cousin and my son are best friends and hit the local refreshments most weekends, lol. A couple times at the RAC Jerry would shoot the $hit about Rutgers Basketball with us.Yep. Same guy.
I ran the food tent for the St. Stan's carnival for about 6 years. The last year was... '17, maybe? I started when our girls were at SJV together.
Name is not familiar.I believe my mom and her 3 siblings went to the SH school until 8th grade. If my math is correct, she may have finished 8th grade in 58'ish. However, her siblings were both younger and older. Did you know any Kabara's from the Parlin section of S'ville?
You're right. It was a long time ago.Arleth School is on Washington Rd, do you mean Selover School?
Yes and lost a lot of money in the pinball machines they had.I'm going to guess you grew up by Tarallo's.
Yep, went to Emma Arleth School for 2nd and 3rd grade.Arleth School is on Washington Rd, do you mean Selover School?
Actually the opposite, they are considered Sayreville not South Amboy. When I think of Sayreville I think of these things :
1. gentleman’s clubs on route 35 (Probably many of them were in south Amboy, not Sayreville).
2. Amboy cinemas (which ironically is not in either of the amboys)

Most of the area hates the guy ironically.
Does he attend any HS reunions?I don't know if that's true. He's actually a pretty decent guy, does some good charity work (Dorothea does more) and takes care of his people (family).
I take exception to your comment because I'm the only one here who actually knows the guy. SWMHS class of 80 doesn't hate him at all.
Does he attend any HS reunions?
Pretty cool at any age, lolI remember coming over the bridge when I was a kid and seeing giant boobs on the screen. Pretty cool when you're 10😨😨

Edison says, sure kid.I love my hometown Sayreville, but good fvcking God are we corrupt.
The Edison PD was the most corrupt police department in all of NJ (which actually means, all of the US). LOL!Edison says, sure kid.

My mom's side of the family comes from Sayreville. Heard lots of interesting local stories growing up. :)I love my hometown Sayreville, but good fvcking God are we corrupt.
Ferry will go out of business within a year. Ppl in that area “work” from home behind their laptops nowadays.
What a stupid response, we can't be corrupt because others might be worse?Edison says, sure kid.
