Mistake there for Oregon to go out of bounds before the chippy FGA

Should be a little over a minute and 1 TO left for TT to get a FGA.

Oregon takes the lead 31-30

5 lead changes in the game

Oh wow a pick 6 while Shough is under pressure…Oregon will win now.

38-30 with 35 secs left

Anyone else think USC is taking this game personally? 35-0 with 7 mins to go in the 2nd quarter. No mercy for the nerds.

Okay, I gotta ask - is Kurt Flood really drawing up and calling the plays at Texas?

Hater! 😉
Flood’s not the only one who might have the title of OC but doesn’t call plays.

Bill Bedenbaugh a Leach/Riley OL coach had the title of OC at OU but Riley was the one calling the plays and getting the credit or blame.

Doesn’t mean these guys aren’t involved in planning but the main guy is Sark and Riley.

Even Kevin Wilson who has been a playcaller, and a good one in his career, had the title of OC at OSU but Day called the plays. I think Wilson was likely more involved in planning as opposed to a Flood or Bedenbaugh though.

This year Day gave up those duties and former WR coach Hartline is the OC and actually calling the plays.

So are you saying Flood hands out water and mops brows while the real OCs plan and call for execution?

No he’s the OL coach not the OC whatever his title might say. Sure he’s probably involved in some game planning but Sarkisian is the play caller and architect of the offense.

Not a Texas fan but it’s good for college football to have Bama lose at home

Bama lost almost 20 players to the portal (three that I know of went to Colorado and said the Col coaching was better and practices harder). An issue for Saban has been having his coaches picked-off every year. Too many teams think getting a Bama coach is a road to sucess. Kirby Smart left Bama in 2016 and now they are king of the hill for now. SEC wont be able to keep all the top recuits on the bench anymore. LSU is going backwards as well and I'm ok iwth that because Kelly is a toxin.

I've been saying I see opportunity opening up from the top on down when people talk about NIL or portal being bad. I don't see it. Alabama or Clemson or OSU don't have a vice grip on things. Still very good programs that will be near the top but you see others coming up and competing with them now and it's similar that way as you go down.

Maybe this is where Gleeson got it from

Except Gleeson ran it like the Kindergarten cop.
We may never know the full story, but the offense early this year at RU versus whatever that was called under Gleeson is night and day. The new OC deserves credit, but part of it is due to maturation of Gavin and development of OL over the last 3 years.

From the article:

Reality check: The Buckeyes rank 114th in the country in third-down conversions at 30.4%. Something to keep an eye on

Reality check: Wolverines have not yet gotten RB Donovan Edwards (18 carries, 46 yards) going as the complement to Blake Corum.

Reality check: The Nittany Lions have scored at least 30 points in nine straight games, longest streak in the nation.

Reality check: QB Joe Milton and the Vols’ passing game didn’t click against Austin Peay (6.9 yards per pass). That a reason to worry?

Reality check: Utes have absorbed some early losses the last two years before rolling to Pac-12 titles. Now they’ve beaten two Power Five opponents without their starting quarterback. Lots to be optimistic about

Reality check: RB Damien Martinez’s 9.96-yard average per carry is the highest in the Power Five among players with at least 20 carries. (Oregon State)

Reality check: Colorado and Utah are the only teams in the country with two Power Five victories.

Reality check: New offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson has unlocked the 2021 version of QB Tyler Van Dyke and found him some weapons in WRs Colbie Young and Jacolby George. (Miami)

Reality check: QB Cam Ward seems to have taken a step forward in his second year with the Cougars after transferring up from FCS. (WSU)

Reality check: Took freshman QB Dante Moore about half a game to become entrenched as the starter. He has thrown five TDs in 39 attempts. (UCLA)

Saw a post on X that Lebby got some heat for having Art Briles "on the field" at OU. Seems like much ado about nothing, but at least a few OU fans did not like it.
