OT: New Music (Released January 2020 or Later)

Just heard this on the radio. On tour with Shinedown. They have 1.2 million followers on YouTube. Good music is out there, contrary to what @bac2therac thinks. You have to find it, because it is not promoted on popular platforms.

See i dont really this..sounds derivative of late 90s early 2000s stuff that took over rock music in a bad way.

As for Shinedown...i bought their first cd. That song Fly From the Inside was awesome...one of the best songs of the century... But generally their stuff is so watered down since then

I miss this band from 2001/2002. They are Canadian. The biggest song was Wasting My Time and everyone has heard that but Deny was awesome and this live performance shows off some powerful vocals. What happened to live performances today on tv. He now sings country music which is no surprise with that growl

A lot of “gimmicky” very young guitar players out on the internet these days. Brandon “Taz” Niederauer isn’t one of them. The kid can flat out play. To add to it, he is refreshingley grounded.

@Jm0513 I believe you said your daughter is 18 or so. Does she like pop/dance music?
17 🙂. Yes, she is expanding her musical taste.
Trying to get her to go to see Bieber with me now that the NYC mandates were lifted.
You can laugh lol

This season of ChicagoPD is good. We hate these breaks though. Do you watch 911 or 911 lone star? They’re really good too.

My good friend is from the Philippines, years ago she turned me on to Filipino singers. They arguably have the best vocalists in the world.

This is a new song/video from a Filipino girl group that maybe her age group would like;

No, haven’t watch 911 or Lonestar, but still keeping up with the Chicago’s. Another week to go.

Let me know what you and your daughter think of the song.

@robcac26 alert. New Clutch!!!

Writeup of the new song:

Wondering if @mildone is familiar with the Philip K Dick novel mentioned below? Sounds like something he would read!

"I went with the Philip K. Dick angle (again). 'Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?' [Dick's 1968 science fiction novel] came to mind (replicants, in particular, representing what is real and not real, or is there a difference at all?). The video makes no secret that this is a homage to Philip K. Dick and a future where we have distortion coursing through our veins." "

I am familiar with the book, although not for the sheep connection. IIRC, one of my favorite movies, "Blade Runner", was based on that novel.

Nice, I didn't even know they were working on a new album!

Not hard to listen to 11+ minutes. Definitely hearing a little Pink Floyd in there.
Primus is very underrated and versatile.
They were on the bill for Ozzfest in 1999, and prior to the show, I wondered if it was a joke. They were heavier than some of the other bands on the bill.
They were an opening act for Slayer's farewell tour. Again, they rocked hard.

I did not catch their Rush tribute tour, but saw clips, and they were solid.
It’s not exactly new, but really enjoyed this Claypool side project:

That's pretty cool.
