And so will the rest of us son
Fans like you are tiresome and boring. Always fretting and thinking the worst instead of enjoying the moment. There is a symbiotic relationship with some Rutgers fans and Mets fans. Everything is a worst case scenario for you guys. Stop with the "son" BS old man.

This a thread for all Mets fans and all Mets fan takes. If you don't like it you can ignore the posts from those of us that you dont like or you can start your own Mister Rogers type thread. Either way it doesnt matter to me.

Onto to the next series, Let's hope we can win 2 of 3 minimally in Anaheim and hopefully Alonso and Marte are back in lineup over the weekend......

if we win 2 of 3 in Anaheim, we go 6- 5 on road trip which I would have honestly signed up for prior to the trip....

So I was over in The Dead Zone reading how The 3 Amigos are bitch slapping you and telling you to go back to the Mets thread, yet you STILL think they love talking baseball with you, lol. I just don't get it. When will you learn?
It is shortbus- he isn’t capable of bitchslapping anyone.
I like baseball and I even like the Yankees when they aren’t playing us. I don’t troll, I chat baseball. I mental midget like shortbus isn’t going to bother me.

Minor correction - 2 of 3 this weekend gets us a 5-5 trip. Agree that is acceptable. Angels are not nearly as bad as their recent form. They will come out of their funk, big time. Hopefully they wait until Monday.

SNY has reported that Megill starts on Friday. I assume Nogosek goes down, although it could be Holderman.

Not just shortbus I counted 3 other mental midgets that agree. 99 out of 100 either don't respond to your posts, or respond in a negative vein. How can that possibly be enjoyable baseball talk to you? I think it's much better to wait it out, watch their postseason meltdown, and then bang the entitled crying douchebags in the face, lmfao.

Fun series guys, good luck in your upcoming games.

Looking forward to a fun playoff push this year for both teams
First team to really knock the socks off of us. Have a feeling we'll be seeing each other again.

Bassitt's stretch here is a little worrisome. He's a smart vet so I think he'll figure it out but he always seemed like the type of SP that wouldn't get shelled multiple times like this.

Alvarez is on fire his last 11 games with 7 HR and 3 2B(.395/.426/.953) in that time.

One ESPN writer named Alvarez the NUMBER ONE minor league prospect for all of MLB! (There are a couple of higher rated guys who are now in the majors, but still have rookie status and thus are still considered prospects.)

I expect Alvarez gets promoted to AAA sometime this summer, and we see him in Queens sometime next year.

Alvarez will probably be the #1 prospect by most major publications in 2023. Arguments could be made for Grayson Rodriguez though as with his injury he won't be pitching for Baltimore this year most likely. Volpe struggling a little for the Yanks. Corbin Carroll for the Dbacks will be high. Some other younger players rising up as well into top 10.

Agreed don't think we see him until mid next year. Maybe they can find a way to ship McCann out of here in the offseason and get a pen piece or something. Have Nido start the year the first 2 or 3 months and then move Alvarez up.

Is that what it is? He seemed pretty solid in his final 3 years at Oakland. SNY may want to stop running that commercial with him saying that he doesn't care about the number or name on the back of the uniform because he is going to grind them down. They ran it last night after he got shelled and pulled from the game.

I forgot in which deal Mets acquired Bassitt. Manea was dealt by Oakland last year too. Comparing their stats only, Bassitt looked like the better pitcher, and maybe that is still true despite last night.

Bassitt was better than Manea last year but they're very similar. Manea has been better this year after Bassitt has been shelled last couple of outings. Bassitt also 3 years older. Gave up 2 prospects, Ginn and Oller for Bassitt.

Rough time in San Diego. Hopefully they can recover this weekend vs the Angels with Megill coming back, Carrasco (the pleasant surprise), and Walker (ugh… still don’t trust him).

Any word on Marte or Alonso?

Listen, if the Mets fail to bag a decent catcher at the trade deadline in August, and Alvarez puts up decent numbers during a short callup to AAA, I wouldn't rule out Alvarez getting to the show THIS year!

Two off days in the next five days. Good timing. I would consider resting both against the Angels and having them back for the Brewers series.

Just a really rough time to run into us tbh. Key bats (Cronenworth, Profar, and Voit) woke up for us the series before vs the Brewers.

Also didn’t realize this until last night, but Mets are the best hitting team with 2 strikes on them, but Manaea is the best pitcher in the MLB with 2 strikes on hitters. Thought that was a cool stat.

Sure will. When they have to come to Citi Field. I assume they will have Tatis by then.

I will trust Walker a lot more than Bassitt right now. Even Tuesday night he was very solid after a rough first 2 innings and gave us some length. Angels struggling scoring runs big time right now. Missing a lot of position players. Mets see Syndrgaard in a national game Sunday night.

If you guys haven’t seen this video before, it’s a good watch:

Bassitt hasn’t been the same since Scherzer went down. He may be putting too much pressure on himself to be the “ace”.

ESPN has Megill listed as tonight's starter. I thought he was getting a rehab start in the minors or did he do that already?

Alvarez another HR to keep his hot streak going. Junior Tillen a 19 year old SS at St Lucie performing well and jumping up Mets prospects lists.
