I mean not really.Need this win.
In the last negotiation, the MLBPA gave its advance approval for a shift ban IF MLB chooses to do so. I think a ban is likely, but far from certain.Teams have been hitting away from the shift for the last couple of weeks. There must be enough data for the Mets to reduce the number of times they shift. Hell, even the Mets are doing it too.
When does the ban on the shift go into effect? Too many eggheads tell the guys who play the sport how to play it. 🤬

an eternally optimistic fan?In the last negotiation, the MLBPA gave its advance approval for a shift ban IF MLB chooses to do so. I think a ban is likely, but far from certain.
First question is what is the definition of a shift.
It didn't end well... for the hitter. 🤣102 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ll take it.2 out of 3 again. LFGM!!!!
Jinx wins again. It didn't end well... for the hitter. 🤣
At least zappaa likes the "Shift". This Shift never hurt anyone.Don’t understand shift ban.
You can play 7 guys in centerfield if you choose, as long as they’re inside the foul lines is all that matters.
I knew a guy well who said “hit it where they ain’t “
It’s funny- everyone talking about getting rid of the shift until our Met’s started to hit against it instead of a launch angle and now everyone is starting to do it again.Don’t understand shift ban.

I’ve been saying this for years but I’m just a fat f*** on a keyboard. The ban against the shift is stupid since professional hitters making $30 million a year should easily be able to slap or bunt the ball away from the shift. And look at that: The Mets are having their best year at the plate when they’re NOT playing Sandy Ball!!!!It’s funny- everyone talking about getting rid of the shift until our Met’s started to hit against it instead of a launch angle and now everyone is starting to do it again.
I always go back to when they asked Piazza how he would do against the shift and he told them he would hit .400
FWIW, Buck S. claims that he hasn't looked at the standings this entire road trip. Not sure I believe him, but I kinda share the sentiment. There'll be time enough for counting when the dealing's done.Jinx wins again.
Put it in the books. Mets went 5-5 on the road trip. Not bad, not great, but Mets held serve. Damn Braves have won 11 in a row. They have a 3 game series with the mighty Nats, and then the Cubs coming up.
On to the Brewers then the Marlins.
IMHO, the issue is that MLB thinks that slapping or bunting to beat the shift is NOT what fans want to see. I personally don't want to see Pete Alonso trying to go the other way to beat the shift. I want him to do what he does best.I’ve been saying this for years but I’m just a fat f*** on a keyboard. I don’t like it or dislike it.At least zappaa likes the "Shift". This Shift never hurt anyone.
They can't play the shift where the Polar Bear hit this one:
I keep saying don't be fooled by the Braves' winning streak. Give the Braves credit for getting fat on the weak teams. That is what you are supposed to do if you expect to compete.Jinx wins again.

IMO it serves two purposes.Don’t understand shift ban.
