OT: OFFICIAL - Make Fun of the Mets/Yanks Thread - 2018 Season

Talk about pathetic. All you got left is to bash the announcers. Maybe you can tell me the Mutts have better hot dogs than the Yanks and make me feel really bad.
So,this is just about Sterling and his minor league, embarrassing way of broadcasting games, and has been mentioned for years by me. Even years when the Mets were playing well.LOOK it up. I've talked about how many Mets announcers have gone on to work national broadcasts in baseball and football and don't think Sterling or Waldman would ever get asks to do that. As Kbee would say, just speaking the truth.

We don't wonder about that. We know that some Mets fans here are very, very sensitive and have the ear of a mod or two.
It's all good. They're suffering enough already. No need for me to pile on at this point.

I can still post, but I am waiting for the right moment! :)

Isn't it funny to have lofty goals? Last year, the Yankees were a surprise within one game of the World Series; this year anything short of a championship is an epic fail? I don't think so.
This is a young team, and the farm is in great shape; if not this year, maybe next. But, the truth is, the team is built to challenge for MANY years.

Conversely, the Mets only chance for changes is to tear apart the strongest part of the team; the starting rotation. Talk crap all you want, but you know this is truth.

From the 1st time I stated the EPIC FAIL, it was in reference to "MAKING" the WS, not having to win it.I agree with almost all of what you just said. The Mets don't have many if any options to turn around their future except to tear a part their strength, starting pitching. Cashman is the best GM in baseball and has done an amazing job retooling and having the Yankees on the brink of greatness.Where I 100% disagree with you is that it won't be an EPIC FAIL if they "don't make" the WS this season. After falling one game short of getting there, and then signing the NL MVP and best HR hitter in baseball, anything less than a WS appearance would be, in my opinion, an EPIC FAIL.

You gotta be honest here though. The Yankees road to World Series likely goes through TWO teams playing near .700 ball.
You lose in that scenario, yes, it sucks, but hardly an epic fail in my opinion.

The Mets last two seasons have been EPIC fails. The Yankees have been a great success already this year. New contributions from great young kids. Dissappointed if they don't make WS, yes. Epic fail...yeah no. The Met have the monopoly right now on epic fails.

I think I recall you saying on this board that you are over 50. Too bad that you'll likely never see the Mutts win another Championship.....must drive you crazy to the point of acting like a 12 year old repeating Epic Fail over and over again.
No, it's just insanity, :sunglasses: actually, I'm over 63, and I'm forgetting what I said two minutes ago, so you might be right. So, get off my lawn!!!

Mets ? Championship ?
Look at their lineup.....look at their farm system.....look at their spending habits.
How could that possibly happen ?

Sure it looks pretty grim, no doubt, yet with a very similar lineup, farm system, and ownership with equal spending habits, the Mets made the WS in 2015, and playoffs in 2016. Saying they won't make it back,or win the WS in a long time is pretty ignorant, and yet,I act like a 12 year old, lol. Never realized my little catch phrase got under so many's skin. Night, night kiddies.

And didn't win it all either year. EPIC FAIL!
2016, EPIC FAIL, 2015 they got there, not winning was disappointing. That's all I'm trying to say to you Yankee fans. Gotta get there after falling one game short last season and then adding the premier hitter in all of baseball. No excuses, no well the road is gonna be tough, bull$hit.

Relax about 2015. The Mets were mediocre and going nowhere until they caught lighting in a bottle with Cespedes and then again with Murphy in the LCS. You guys then dumped Murphy and Ces is a permanent injury risk. You guys used up your luck for long, long, long time.

Similar lineup ? You're kidding , right ?
Other than Murphy who hit a very pedestrian 14 HR's and .281,what is so dramatically different? He went wild in the playoffs but my point which I guess you can't seem to follow is the teams are not very different, and be made into winners if the GM made better moves. Hey, for the sake of argument, insanity is right, the Mets never win another WS in my lifetime,I can live with that,I'd just hope my 2 sons, which I cursed with helping to make them Mets fans, get the chance to see a couple. That is all.

And maybe the Yankees lightning in the bottle is right now, and it burns out way before "making" the WS! Hence,EPIC FAIL.

Yeah, our "lighting in the bottle" is tons of amazingly talented young players who will have long, long careers. Good grief, you need to think before you type! :)
