I’m rising to level status with her, and from my perch I see myriad onlookers straining to get a glimpse of her. OTOH she has Prince Nappy Boy to explain to everyone, so there’s that.
Elizabeth oversaw remarkable changes in the British Empire, as it evolved into a Commonwealth.
It took Charles a long time to grow into the role, but he is actually pretty well-suited to be King at this point, and Camilla has turned out to be a decent person who will make a good Queen Consort.
I would guess he will stay in the role for 5-10 years, and will streamline the position and reduce the pageantry, which will be a loss for fun TV events, but probably for the best. He's done a lot of good work as the Prince of Wales.
The Queen was pretty amazing, but really might have better abdicated about 10-15 years ago.

Down here in NZ, pretty much positive, sympathetic reaction. You can not like the idea of monarchy and still have liked the Queen.
For me it is this simple. The Queen was the Only Queen that has been present during my entire life. Her reign was like a constant that did not change, there was a weird comfort in that. In this ever changing world her reign was like an anchor for the world, and she managed her gilded cage pretty well for 70+ years which is remarkable in itself. RIP Queen Elizabeth.

Camilla is pretty popular with UK citizens now. The Queen should have let Charles marry her to begin with. Camilla was always the one that may him happy.
She should have let her sister Margaret marry Peter Townsend.
I think Charles and Camilla became an item prior to either marriage. Once the Queen say no, they married other people but obviously still hooked up from time to time.
