OT: Roofers in the Freehold area?

That cost seem extremely high. Had a bi-level completed for $10k but not in your area.

That does seem crazy. Not sure what the square footage is on that home or what type of shingles they were quoting for her. You can go nuts (expensive) on them if you want to or if the contractor is trying to steer you that way.

Also, I had my roof done before the pandemic supply chain cost increases so I could be talking out my ass at this point.

Not to hijack but I'm currently getting quotes for replacing a 240 square foot deck in Hunterdon County with either wood or composite. Quotes coming in at $20-$30K and I was floored by that. Concrete footings are fine.

I used MAK roofing, they are in Hamilton, I would think they would service the Freehold area. I have a ranch with 2 additions so a lot of roof space, I paid about $9500 3 years ago. Trenton Roofing is also competitive with their pricing

We used Fortfied roofing - very satisfied

Also see a lot of signs for Joe the Roofer

Penyak in south Plainfield also has a great reputation

With all the recent hailstorms in that area (Mercer, Monmouth, northern Burlington) has anyone gotten their roof repaired or replaced through their insurance? A friend of mine did a few years ago, paid his $1000 deductible and insurance covered the rest. I thought it was a scam & never returned the roofers calls. This past month I've gotten a few voicemails from roofers but not the quality guys like MAK. Was afraid to ask our insurer about it & have them raise our rates just for bothering them lol.

I had insurance cover a portion of replacement due to wind damage but not the whole thing based on overall age. I felt it was fair as was the price from the company I used: Double D Construction in Piscataway.

We could probably do that for 16k but your problem is Hunterdon County. People have to bake in travel time. I did one 2 years ago for like 20k that was 400 sqft newly built with expensive Trex decking.

The quotes we are getting were from local crews. We thought we could just replace the boards but there was some rotting we weren't aware of.

How close are you to Pennsylvania? Perhaps you could get a Pennsylvania contractor to do the work who would be willing to travel? A Google search of Hellertown Pa deck contractor located several with decent ratings on Google.

Going rate for composite decking is around $90-120 sq ft these days. Those prices are in line

A good friend of mine is looking to replace a roof on a small 1 story ranch in Freehold. She got a quote for $30K to just replace the shingles which seems insane. Anyone have any recommendations for roofers in that area?

I just had All County Exteriors do my roof.
I got 3 estimates, and they were the middle, but very comparable to the lowest. They included some things that would have been extra with other quotes. Full disclosure, I have some friends who got high quotes from this same company.

For my experience, they did very good work in a short time. In my younger days. I did some roofing on the side, so was expecting to find nails in the following days/weeks. I found TWO.
My home is a 2 story colonial, so regardless of what they decide, I feel $30K is outrageous.

A Top Roofing is big down this way also Joe The Roofer

Out of curiosity, i have an attached gazebo that will one day need to be re-roofed. Assuming the same companies that do the main roof can also do a custom piece like an attached gazebo?
