I had insurance cover a portion of replacement due to wind damage but not the whole thing based on overall age. I felt it was fair as was the price from the company I used: Double D Construction in Piscataway. With all the recent hailstorms in that area (Mercer, Monmouth, northern Burlington) has anyone gotten their roof repaired or replaced through their insurance? A friend of mine did a few years ago, paid his $1000 deductible and insurance covered the rest. I thought it was a scam & never returned the roofers calls. This past month I've gotten a few voicemails from roofers but not the quality guys like MAK. Was afraid to ask our insurer about it & have them raise our rates just for bothering them lol.
We could probably do that for 16k but your problem is Hunterdon County. People have to bake in travel time. I did one 2 years ago for like 20k that was 400 sqft newly built with expensive Trex decking. Not to hijack but I'm currently getting quotes for replacing a 240 square foot deck in Hunterdon County with either wood or composite. Quotes coming in at $20-$30K and I was floored by that. Concrete footings are fine.
The quotes we are getting were from local crews. We thought we could just replace the boards but there was some rotting we weren't aware of.We could probably do that for 16k but your problem is Hunterdon County. People have to bake in travel time. How close are you to Pennsylvania? Perhaps you could get a Pennsylvania contractor to do the work who would be willing to travel? A Google search of Hellertown Pa deck contractor located several with decent ratings on Google. Not to hijack but I'm currently getting quotes for replacing a 240 square foot deck in Hunterdon County with either wood or composite. A good friend of mine is looking to replace a roof on a small 1 story ranch in Freehold. She got a quote for $30K to just replace the shingles which seems insane. Anyone have any recommendations for roofers in that area?
