OT: Sandusky Story Gets Worse

Oh good, we get to see how crazy they are when they start trying to explain how this is yet another lie, despite the obvious facts to the contrary. I do wonder if there was a ring up there. Why else would Sandusky be allowed to run those kids in and out of those facilities for decades after it was known.

paterno heard rumors, or perhaps a direct complaint, and did nothing. At that point you become complicit. You have to double down and continue to do nothing, because now you are legally at fault too. Blowing the lid off Sandusky is like admitting you were culpable too. So you bury your head in the sand and secretly (or openly, as was the case here) hate the guy and create distance between him and yourself and hope that you are dead before the chickens come home to roost. Unbelievable.
This.

Actually relating this to Rutgers football could this potentially hurt recruiting with the story coming back and sounding even worse. Maybe a recruit on the fence goes with us over PSU?

Who knows if this 1976 thing is true but there's a lot of smoke for there to be no fire. When the news first broke in 2011 and Paterno was still alive, Paterno's initial quote was "if this is true, we were all fooled." But it later came out that he was well aware, if nothing else. Dude lied and knew he had to lie. So this 1976 thing doesn't surprise me, sadly.

PSU would just be getting off their postseason ban now if the NCAA stuck with the penalties.

Sandusky's retirement at the age of 55 in 1999 always seemed related to his crimes. That doesn't happen unless people in power knew something.

No one is all good or all evil. It sucks that he knew because innocent kids were hurt later. It sucks that people defend his culpability. Joe os did great things and terrible things.

The sooner Penn State as an institution, community, and fan base accept this and not incessantly fight to save his honor the quicker everyone will move on - atleast from the aggressive nature of debate, on both sides, at national and regional levels.

True...not sure why anyone would HOPE he knew..

I despised the guy, but never HOPED he enabled rape. The whole story is just sickening.

I believed him. I genuinely thought that he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and was betrayed by a friend that he trusted. I'm saddened that that seems to not be the case.

I always kind of scratch my head when a recruit goes there. How can you put on that jersey and what it really represents and feel ok about it? I'm so over pen state and they aren't worthy of a rivalry with us.

Their football may have been better than ours for years, but with what we now know about the type of cultish, weirdo, human-worshipping behavior of nit people proves we've really been better all along. How ironic

I'm surprised we haven't been invaded by the Spin Doctors yet.

And here ya go!

1976? Well, I guess there is no statute of limitations on Penn State throwing millions of dollars at any "victim" who makes baseless claims.

Wow. SMH.

The law doesn't work that way idiot. The law in this case is black and white. Either you follow or you do not. Joe, C/S/S followed the law as it was written at the time. That is only thing that matters

It just goes to show you that even Rutgers fans have no sympathy for the victims. As always, it comes down to football and attempting to cash in on a potential recruit. Truly disgusting!!

Here's the judge's opinion as quoted by the Philly legal paper. Just what most of us thought all along. Ped State knew about this for years and covered it up.

And according to this judge, it's doubtful they're going to have insurance coverage for it. I hope it bankrupts those MoFo's

"Penn State may not receive insurance coverage for damages stemming from much of the sexual abuse by convicted serial child molester Jerry Sandusky, a Philadelphia judge has ruled.

The ruling dashes much of the school’s chances for receiving insurance coverage for the abuse that formed the basis of a $60 million settlement the school entered into in 2013.

Ruling on numerous issues related to whether Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association Insurance will have to indemnify the school for Sandusky’s abuse, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Gary Glazer ruled Wednesday that an abuse and molestation exclusion in policies between 1992 and 1999 will bar coverage for incidents during that time period.

Much of the reported abuse by Sandusky, who was found guilty of 45 out of 48 charges in 2012, occurred after 1992.

Glazer further determined in the ruling that, although the abuse exclusion was dropped from policies after 1999, an “expected or intended” exclusion could apply to bar coverage for claims after 1998.

According to Glazer, the exclusion would bar coverage if officials with the school, including former president Graham Spanier and ex-senior vice president for business and finance Gary Schultz, would have expected or intended children to have been abused after they had received reports of Sandusky’s activities. Glazer said incidents of abuse were reported to them in 1998 and 2001, but they “apparently took no steps to prevent Sandusky from committing additional bad acts in the future.”

“The American public, of which Spanier and Schultz are members, had been exposed by the media to countless stories of priests, teachers and others who repeatedly sexually abused many children over many years. It is highly unlikely that anyone at the turn of this current century could reasonably claim ignorance of the existence and practice of sexual predators like Sandusky,” Glazer said.

You want to know what's truly disgusting your boards reaction to this news. Deny, Deny, Deny you belong to a group of people that are truly appalling. Your board and those who post(your included) on it are very dysfunctional human beings. You should all be ashamed of yourselves, but your delusion prevents you from seeing the truth. I feel sad for the world you all live in.
