OT: Sports Betting Thread

I took Colorado -3.5 last Sunday thinking the line would just keep growing and growing by today. Naturally, it’s gone down. What am I missing here
It’s called a let down game.
Teams plays a great game week 1 and everyone thinks they are the greatest. Kids read headlines and don’t prepare. Nebraska now has game tape to game plan. A lot of game left but these things happen every season.

Aren't the books going to be killed by Colorado? Public was heavy on them.

Thursday Game: Navy at Memphis. Experts are liking Memphis -14.5… simulations like over 47 points.

My only one so far today is FSU -24.5 vs Boston College….saw that game last night and started laughing thinking about what the line would be, expected it to be like 35 at least so had to jump on it when I saw 24…let’s roll

How you feeling?

I bet $20 on my half-point parlay for 28k if my slip goes right. I picked RU, PSU, Okie lite, Arkansas, Washington, Nebraska and Tennesee to cover. NFL Lions, Cowboys, TB to cover and KC/Jacksonville over.

I get where you're coming from with sports betting—it's a mix of adrenaline and strategy. For me, it's about enjoying the games while also making thoughtful choices. I've been using themulligans.org quite a bit lately for their insights and tips. They dive into the stats and trends, which helps me feel more confident in my bets. Setting limits is something I've learned is super important too. It keeps things fun and prevents any major losses. What sports are you most into betting on? I follow basketball and soccer closely, but I'm always up for hearing about new betting opportunities!

For me, it comes down to whether you want sports betting to be a fun hobby or a true income stream because you almost certainly won't get both. If you're in it for adrenaline and fun, you will lose. For me, it's a daily grind that is almost completely devoid of emotion. There are days when I don't want to do it, but I do because volume of mathematically-proven +EV bets is the only way to win over time. But I also understand that some people like to bet for the thrill, and that's ok for them, too.

Sports betting was fun when it first opened up, but I'm about ready to give it up. The more this thing goes on, the more data the sports books collect, so the more they stack the deck in their own favor. Harder and harder to win, and they keep throwing out sucker bets or crappy lines. They can have it.

Not sure how you're approaching it, but there are still wins out there. Tgat said, July to August is slow every year.
