OT: Syracuse’s New Fieldhouse opening next month

The AD and others needed cushy offices for themselves. Priorities!
Yea let’s spend money on 6-7 non revenue sports to the tune of 250M. When you could have consolidated it into 1-2 projects that services the entire athletic department for about the same money.

The reality is that we ranked last in donations and plus it’s super expensive to build in NJ. We are very fortunate that we are in a big TV market because we didn’t get into the B1G based on fans or the product on the field.

Luv' ya' bro BUT Sidwar didn't de-commit and start scheduling visits - to multiple campuses - because of "field houses." He's gone because we have a HC who still thinks he's coaching in 2006 and an OC who is right there with him. I would've de-committed as well if I were him. Sorry.
Recruiting is about opportunity to shine. Our offense doesn’t give QBs or receivers that opportunity. They want no part of the offensive stench Schiano emanates. Those aren’t priority positions to the HC (head chimp).

Gavin Sidwar cares. That’s why he’s visiting Syracuse this weekend.

Maryland and Syracuse have passed us by thanks to their new Fieldhouse.
Hey "Mary" GTFO with that bs. The terripins are 1-4 having gotten asses kicked except beating USC by 1. They beat mighty UConn and nova and Virginia. They're exactly tied with us right now. How's that new $150mm fieldhouse working for them,?

Hey "Sara". You're using a facility that isn't in place this year to claim they've passed us by lol. How bout a great recruiter , perhaps better coach/motivator and $800k QB.

AlNostradumbass continues to think Greg 2.0 will bolt if he doesn’t get his Precious Fieldhouse. Let him leave..good riddance
Agree. Donating toward his buyout would be money much better spent than on NIL. Nobody with options wants to be anywhere near his shit offense philosophy, even for $$$$.

He wouldnt ever have a place to leave to, though. No other program wants his calamitous style of football

Who has said we should be winning the B1G? (Other than the OP coincidentally. I think next year was his Rose Bowl proclamation?)

Would you care to answer - considering the many institutional advantages (Big Ten v ACC, NJ v NY), shouldn't HC Schiano and his elite recruiting ability be well ahead in recruiting against Syracuse? Regardless of a "fieldhouse"?
This RU team was supposed to be "the best ever".

Who is going to tell recruits the field house is where their $20.5M NCAA money is going for the next 10 years?

Lack of field house caused all of these injuries. Didn’t you get the update!!!
If we had a Fieldhouse we’d have better facilities for punt return group meetings. We currently don’t have any place for that, which is why we don’t ever do that.

We have a great staff that lacks resources
This isn't a great staff outside of Flaherty and Harismyak. And Harismyak isn't exactly having a great year so far. KC hasn't been worth the going pawn shop rate on his rather limited playbook.

Too bad we won’t see them on the field due to injuries
Every team has injuries. Why do we have more than most? We were supposed to have depth this year according to the experts on this board. Same sh*t every year.

That's what the ballyhooed depth was supposed to address. Indiana lost their starting QB and won last week. Ohio State lost 2 of their best offensive linemen and still ran the ball down the throats of a team ranked in the top ten. On the road.

I’m sure his decision comes down to a field house. He rescinded his commitment because the offensive coaching staff sucks and there is no offensive identity other than not scoring.

He will not end up at Syracuse.
Yep, since you said that, he will commit by the end of the day😀

I’m not sure why everyone thought we had depth. It was a miracle to get all the guys to comeback for one more year. But it just wasn’t meant to be.

Al, I have hung in there with you for years, but in a couple years, they can have a practice facility the size of two Superdomes and it won’t matter. After the Big Ten, SEC, and Big 12 strip the ACC of all the decent programs, all that will be left will be Syracuse, Wake Forest, and Boston College. I think even Cal-Berkeley and Stanford will swallow their pride and go to the new PAC 8/10 and who knows about SMU. No one will care about Syracuse and their fieldhouse anymore than Tulsa or UMass building a new fieldhouse.

He’s visiting Syracuse because of its field house. He’s visiting Syracuse because Greg is an absolutely horrible coach and bottom 5 offensive minds in the country. So he pulled out of Rutgers and is looking for a viable option for his career

Nebraska fieldhouse working wonders. Playing in a tough league levels the playing fieldhouse.

If everyone else has a strong Fieldhouse, it won’t provide an advantage. UCLA also has a very nice facility, which opened in 2017.

We are at a disadvantage because almost everyone else has a nicer facility, compared to ours. This puts us at a recruiting disadvantage.

Oregon’s facility was ranked #1, and they are expanding it. No wonder why they are currently ranked #1 in the country.

You are not understanding the scope of the problem. Since 2004, we have had better facilities than Syracuse, and this in part allowed us to beat them for most recruits. This year:

- they are likely to finish 8-4 to 9-3
- they have more NIL funds, especially evidenced by giving their qb a good amount
- their qb is on pace to throw for >3700 yards
- we are likely to finish 4-8 to 8-4

If we finish with a losing record, we will have a much weaker value proposition vs Syracuse, and this could affect our ‘26 class

If we had a Fieldhouse, our talent level, especially on our offense, would have been much better
